What’s up with the gigantic pots? If you plan on popping those seeds in those pots I predict overwatering shortly. Start off small in Dixie cups at the very most, than gallon containers, than move to those pots. There is no reason to start off in those huge pots. Not being able to transplant because it’s an auto flower is a complete myth and people just don’t know how to transplant. Don’t use smart pots for first two pots as they are difficult to transplant from. Just use plastic until final pot, than go to the smart pots.

Red Solo Plastic cups just planted seeds tonight.

I have water in a spray bottle and it comes out in a mist. I have wet the surface but definitely don’t want to over water. I’m pretty sure the soil at the bottom of the cup isn’t wet. Is this enough water at this stage?

There are several holes in each solo cup to let water drain out.

I had 5 seeds to start with. One seed never sank in the water and taproot never came out. Been nearly 2 full days.

I marked the container and planted it anyways just to see if it would do anything

I just plant seeds directly into coco. I don’t bother with the whole paper towel or cup of water nonsense. Not needed. I soak the cup once than plant seeds. Mist the top if it gets dry. Won’t need to water the cup for at least 10-14 days.

Remember you don’t have to water those cups often. Soak it once when planted, than only when the cup is dry and weighs nothing 10-14 days in soil roughly. Once they start getting roots and plant increases in size you will start to water more often.

Thanks for the info.

So far I have watered once enough to have the soil good and moist. The only thing I have done besides that is to mist the top of the soil with a spray bottle. Is the misting too much should I let it go completely without? I usually have been misting the top of the soil of a morning before work and after work around 6 pm.

Also....having issues getting my humidity over 35%. Is this going to effect the plants too much? I’m afraid of putting a humidifier inside the tent or even right up next to the intake on the tent just don’t want it getting the light wet.
