Replacement Drivers For 90watt UFO?

Anybody know where to get these transformers? One went out on a buddy's light. The one that works has an input voltage of 110v AC and an output voltage of 109v DC. I cant seem to find these anywhere.

Or it's a wire burned on the board, thats what I was told by the manufacture. I plan on breaking one down today to see!

How many LEDS on the panel. ITs hard to say what you need. What is the forard voltage of the leds? Most likely there is no driver (not a transformer) You either use a resister to get the voltage down so the leds can use or you use a LED driver. Take the thing apart. I beleave they use LM3445 buck boost controllers. I doubt that has been damaged. Check the capacitors and inductors on the circuit.

I could see right away what was damaged. There are two "drivers" that power each half of the light. I called them transformers because they switched from 120v AC to 110V DC (or is that a rectifier?). Anyway, one of them is putting out 104VDC and one is at 4VDC. So I took it out and opened it up (by "it" I mean a small black box with 2 input wires and two output wires) Inside, there is a 450V 47microfarad capacitor, a small transformer, various resistors and other shit I can't name properly. But in one corner, there is a copper coil of wire around a spindle. The coil broke in one spot and unwound a bit. You can see it got hot and all of this stuff is half-encased in some sort of epoxy resin to begin with, so repairing it isn't an option. I might suggest removing the covers to these modules before firing up any 90 watt ufo. I know it'll void warranty, but this overheating transformer is a common problem and the circuitry is waterproof, let alone dustproof.

Anyway...thanks for the lead...I'll see where it takes me.

Here's a few pictures of the component in question...I looked for the boost buck controller online, and from the picture I eventually found, I'm not sure that's it. It's hard to find a part when you have no clue what it's called exactly. There are no part numbers or anything on this bastard, and no diagram in the light. Since when do we not put wiring diagrams in our electrical devices? (China...). Anyway, I emailed HTG to see if they can steer me in the right direction, but no reply as of yet. The bad "coil" is in the lower left of the second pic (black circle, just under my thumb). Of course, it's the top view, so you can't really see the issue, but I'm looking to replace this entire box.

Anyone?

Wow...don't everybody rush in to help at once...kinda reminds me of my last electrical question....probably too intelligent for the masses.

No worries...found the answer myself....again.

Found em for $12.50 but thank you for replying. It's been hard to get the attention of anyone who actually knows whats going on lately. I guess it's to be expected when our posts are hidden amongst all the "Check out my growroom idea!" B.S. posted by every idiot and their sister. Half those morons can't grow an erection....let alone a plant of ANY caliber.

Keep fightin the good fight.

I need to get a few of these LED drivers. Can you tell me where I might find them?
Thanks, Gary
