ur better off getting cfl's from walmart, canadian tire or the hardware store... i have a couple lizards and so i have a supply of repti-glo's... both uva and uvb... repti-glo day-glo's dont give off enough light... and the cfl's r the same thing as common higher watt cfl's as far as i can tell... and a hell of alot cheaper too. pet stores can charge a mint for those things...

u can use them if u want... i have read that they may give off too much uv rays which may hurt the plants in the long run... but if u use them wisely... u should be happy...

ok, now the repti glo 10.0 is blue light and color spectrum, but those pieces of shit wont do anything, if you wanna go with repti glo light bulbs, buy the repti glo 2.0 26watt cfl. It is 6700k which is very high output daylight cfl, better than cool whites at 4100k.These lights are only 1600 lumens, so you have to buy like 4 which is a waste of some serious cash. These are the best repti glo you can get for vegging, but i'd go with some high output 65 watt daylights, more lumens, and probably less of a price, get like 2 or three for tiny decent grow. I made the mistake of haveing a 26watter 2.0 and a soft white. Now i got the 26 watter and 2x 23 watt coolwhites plus cool white 15 watter tube for lower leaves. Basically if you can find higher wattage than the 26 watters for cheaper do it, otherwise get a bunch of those, they will work but you might need like 4 or more not sure ask someone else.

yeah, they will work for side lighting, just get like 3 or so per side and spread em out, they dont hurt the plants what so ever, its the 10.0 that could possibly damage, 2.0 26 watter is 6700k and white light output color.the number is how much percentage of uvb rays that they contain, and they are all 33% uva, i'm pretty sure.
