Results of topping a 1.5 week old plant. I think it was successful!

I decided that I wanted to try topping my blue dream bag seed to see what the outcome would be like topping this early in life. The plant was topped directly above the 1st node. Below are pictures of before and after. Total elapsed time between cut and latest picture is a little under 36 hrs.

Today (about 36 hours after the topping):

Next time consider topping when you see 3 or 4 sets of growth nodes. That will give your plant to mature so it will be able to recover from the shock you induced.

I have not noticed the plant showing any signs of shock. No slowing of growth, discoloration or excessive curling of leaves. Looks happy!

looks like it is going to be a double cola. my most productive plants have been the double. some way they can yield a good bit more over a single or a 4 cola plant, at least imo. GL

Po boy, hopefully you're right! So far it looks that way. Plant looks to be doing very well! I will feed her pH'd water with BioWeed (Kelp mix for root growth) this Thursday.

Quick update on the plant! Growth is very rapid, I did not notice a slow down at all. This is four days after the cut.

i top plants at least twice, especially with sativas. first time is when i have four nodes, second is when i have four new shoots and third is FIM'd after 75 days on half of new shoots, this along with super cropping does work! that will probably just be two main colas unless you top it agian, it looks to me like its going to just fine and not stunted.

Here we are at one week after cutting. Looking good, I can't believe how busy this thing is turning out. This plant came from a "Blue Dream" bagseed. I'm seeing a very Indica dominant strain, look at how big those leaves are!

It looks good but why is it so droopy did you pour water on it or something? those leaves will die if they touch the soil for too long
