So we are talking optimal growing environment, aka where landraces originate? Here in the real world you harden your plants off before placing them outdoors.
Granted, less light is better as seedlings, but what I'm saying is, if a seed sprouted outside in the dirt, the full sun shining on it, wouldn't damage it.

The sun will kill plants, the closer to the equator you are the more intense the sun , also altitude effects sun intensity, I live at 6000+ feet altitude so the sun rays here are very harmful. Not to mention high daytime temps and low night temps make semi-hardy plants like cannabis need a good period to adjust to the outdoor life and if you don't have a greenhouse like me you need to start them indoors, harden them off , then plant them in the ground outdoors after 7-14 days of hardening off. Right now I am also hardening off some cabbage, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. Not every person that grows outdoors lives in the emerald triangle where you can plant in the dirt and a huge plant grows out of it because of perfect conditions.

hey go green,, ive been looking at your cob led's for awile now. its hard to decide what to go with as i know little about LED ..anyways i wondered what is the difference between the cxb3070 and cxb3590's?? i see many lamps with the 3070's and only a few with the 3590's but ive been told by riu members the 3590's are better,,,why? or is this true? please tell me the difference..
also ive been running a 315 watt boulder lamp cdl lamp and im loving it.. i would love to run my own comparison between one of your led's and the cdl,,,what lamp would you recommend to cover a 4ftx4ft area???
Which is better cxb3070 or cxb3590? They are basically the same tech just different light emitting surface (LES) size. If you power them with the same current the 3590 will produce more light but it comes at a higher cost. Also in my opinion it is better to have more chips and spread them out to have better coverage. That's why I recommend 16, 50w cxb3070 chips over a 4'x4', that would be 800w which seems like overkill but the PPFD is optimal around 800-1000.

Cannabis(c3) can take over 30uMol/day(dli) without co2 supplementation======wants light. lots of it from the start.

I've seen growers throw 1500ppf 24/0 at them indoors from seed with no ill effects, it's "photon hungry"; nothing new

plant one seed outside in full sunlight and plant another under a cfl bulb, see which one does better.......lol

So, according to your theory here, Plants would do better in less light as seedlings. THAT was all I was trying to say, before you decided to argue a losing battle. I wasn't putting down your setup bro, just was trying to lend a helping hand. This site is here to compare, and contrast on marijuana cultivation, where we give tips, from HANDS ON experience, to save fellow growers time.
(ps, sorry to take your forum off topic GOGREENLED's. I will be purchasing a 200 watt COB later today)
Thank you for your contributions to the forum, and for your business. Both are much appreciated.

i JUST went thru hell with too much light on a young plant (Grape God). It kept showing signs of overwater/underwater, and i couldnt for the life of me figure it out, because to me, it seemed that it was a decent amount of light. It was just a yong plant too, not a seedling even! and it took up until i flipped the switch to flower before it could handle the amount of lighting i was trying to throw at it. These things are definetly strain sensitive, because I too have given plants intense lighting to no ill effects, just depends...

thanks for the info,, ive been really interested in today's cob led's.. i know the best are diy's but thats not in my strong suit..anyways i guess its time to invest into the cxb 3070's and maybe run 3 or 4 200 watt cobs rather than 1 or 2 of the 300 watt fixtures..
