Today I saw a thread where a guy quoted another guy, but the other guy's post was AFTER his, later timestamp and everything. I didn't take a screenshot or anything like that, but was suitably tripped out to remember the experience. I've seen this happen before, in a quantum box. Sometimes things can get ugly.

screw the rep system, it dont work, it serves only to make people look good rather than as an indication of whether that person gives out good advice that actually helps peeps.

this is exactly what he wants. I use another forum that has a rep system very similar to the one on here and they have a link to the screename who left you that certain rep and whether it was negative or positive.
The Elites can see who gives them rep hence they rarely ever get drive-by neg rep. That is the reason why we all should have this feature so it stops REP ABUSE.
but we never will because it's an elite feature and that attracts people to become Elite.

we used to have it set so you could see who repped you. all it did was lead to fighting. the minute someone got negative rep they ran and negative repped that person back. then the BS fight threads started. the system was abused so it was changed.
makes sense. at least the drive-by neg reppers can only hit you one in 30. plus theres enough over-sensitive people fighting here already.

Too funny I posted this outta sheer frustration one day figuring it'd get a few looks then die. Some people been gettin' a lot of rep off it hehe. I didn't stalk you slik, I wanted to see the grow outcome of someone who was talking trash to see if they even had skills to criticize. By the look of your grow I'd say you have valid points

As many have said rep means nothing I suppose, but if that's the case why even bother to call it a feature or have it at all then? Just thinking outloud.
Words typed into a computer can often be misconstrued as attacks or hate without being able to show the emotion or verbal cues we all use in everyday life. This is mostly my problem I think. I'll type what I find reasonable and then get 20 attack posts on my thought without being able to rebut. By the time the next post goes in from me I've been neg repped 12 times or called a troll. Again means nothing but I'm so sensitive. WAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! *Runs Away crying*

I agree with that, wannabe. The way the system is and has been abused, we've got people with "huge" rep who haven't posted anything on growing that I've been able to find. Others are incredibly helpful and hardly have any recognition for it. So, for myself, when assessing someone here, I look to the past, the old-fashioned way, to their previous behavior (posts). There's the tell, and there's where it matters.

i agree to to a point. like ill admit prolly 1/3 of my rep is from humor, or not taking any shit, not weed help. but i also try to help people whenever its within my ability. and i definetly rep folks when they help me. its a flawed system but its what weve got.

It's probably the same here, although what I've gotten the most rep for is my tobacco tea recipe. Hm. Anyway, yeah, you get repped for different things, of course. And that's the inherent flaw in the system.
I use other sites with no rep, never even heard of such a thing til I got here, I think that most sites can function just fine, if not BETTER doing without it entirely. Tha's my two cookies, cuz I spent my two cents.
