Rez and pump question Aero

So I'm a little confused on the rez aspect. So in my setup ill be using Rubbermaid tubs with a pump in each. So my question is do I add the feed lines from the pumps into the rez and set everything in a on 5 min and 1min off. Wouldn't my tub overflow if I have water originally in my tub then turn everything on with timers connect to rez?

Also should I add airstones to rez?
How to connect feed lines properly to rez?

What type of setup are you doing, are you talking about drip irrigation or flood n drain?
take a photo of your setup it's much easier to offer good advice when I can visualize your issue.

I'm just planning before purchase. But the plan was to turn 54 gal Rubbermaid into a aeroponic setup and actually have multiple tubs to one 54gal rez. Now my questions lies with the the pump and rez. How will my tub not overflow..
My conecpt of this was I add a pump to each tub and connect feed lines together and connect to rez with air stone and nutrient monitor. But how with there being no actual return of water will my tub not fill to the top with sprayers and constant 5min on and 1min off and there being no fill line. I'm confused on the whole thing. And also do I add a pump to rez?

Look at RDWC,
in essence you need to plumb all containers together either with (RWDC) uniseal and PVC or barbed fittings and black 1/2 in. I.d. Tubing. (Seen in many commercial. Systems )
once all are plumbed together including the resevoir you put a STRONG air pump in with air stone in every container including res.
water can't overflow because you don't put to much in and the attaching of the containers allows the water to move freely.

Nono that's not what I'm doing I don't want dwc I'm doing aeroponics. Either I miss understood the concept or you did the question. So basically fine print I'm doing 2 plants in each tub each with a pump connected to one rez filled to the top with nute solution.

Basically what I'm fuzzy on is this. So I'm getting ecoplus 396gph pumps and the come with a power cord and feedpine and a return that you place the Pvc tree with the listers on. You fill your tub up to a specific height then put the feed lines in the rez and turn it on. It pulls the water inside the tub and mists it while bring nute solution in at the same time. All on one time 5min on 1 off

if your doing aeroponics you would make a manifold thats connected to your pump. you would keep like 8-10 gallons in your res i use a large tupperware.

then you would need to purchase the materials to tap the pvc pipe and install 360 or 180 degree spray nozzles in your pvc pipe enough to cover everything.

by manifold i mean something like a pvc pipe that goes around in a circle in your tub so you can put misters all over it then it connects to the pump which is on a timer. that pump would need to come on for a minute every hour or so.

you could put airstones in the water part and your nutrients and stuff then when the roots grow into the res they will also be getting some DWC love along with the aeroponics on the rest of the root system. your nutrients and everything will be in the water so when your pump goes on it sprays your nutrient solution. you shouldnt need an outside source of water. just change your rez with fresh water 1 time a week.

your last post kinda summed it up. dont call them feedlines unless you actually have some sort of top drip system.

Their called feed lines because their bringing the nutrient (food) solution from the 54 gal rez into the aeroponic 54 gal tub. I just don't understand how I have a feed line into the rez and that's connected to the pump but when u start u fill the tub up like half way then turn it on and the cycle as it kicks on sprays the current solution in the tub and replaces it with solution from the rez correct? So ill I'm doing is just replacing what's sprayed

Because my return on the pump is what I put my tree of misters on so the water is being pullled from the container and drawn from the feed line that is in my rez for intake

I've grown with every imaginable aero set up (including hpa) but get lost in your explanation of what you want to do

I top feed with Hydro Halo Drip Rings (but used more as a spray)

Runoff channels back to rez which has 2 pumps

1. for feeding (~ 35 seconds/45 minutes)
2. to recirculate the nutes in the rez

I also add an air stone under each pump (because I already own them)
