Roleadro 600w LED or not?

HI there.

Could you guys help me out a little here. I veg in a 1.2 x1.2 meter tent (9 x 18Ltr square pots)
I normally veg under 600w hid but thinking of purchasing a Roleadro 600w LED ?
My question is should I?

Using less power and less heat appeals but are they any good? The ballast and bulb need renewing so I figure this is a good time to consider LED if they receive any positive reviews .....

Many thanks.

Remember value in value out. Those are ok but will never replace a 600hid. If you are looking for something closer to your 600w range i would go for a platinum led p450 or if cost is a problem marshydro is better.

That looks like a nice LED but you would probably need four of those or so to replace your setup. Im all for jumping on the LED wagon, I did it with Platinum Leds with good results, but again very expensive investment...

If your handy there are some DIY cob builds you can do. i got both cob and Platinum leds i can say that platinum led is great for mid range and cobs are high end but worth the investment. As far as cheaper they wont drop much probably 40dollars a cob in a year or 2.

No. If it doesn't have a Cree, Bridgelux/Vero, or Citizen COB in 3500k, 3000k, or 4000k white, 80-90 CRI, don't get it. It's useless by comparison.

nope, keep using MH until COB LED is cheap enough. IMO
Fuuuuuuuck thaaaaaaat.

You'll be paying more in electricity for the HIDs than you would buying a COB. Like, you'll be paying triple to quintuple, potentially even sixfold per grow what you would if you went COB to begin with.

Had a Roleadro COB ("400w"), both COBs cracked in about a month, more heat than light. Shit light it was.

Would any of the LED's mentioned in this thread be appropriate for supplementing a 600w MH/HPS? My tent is a 4.5x4.5x4.5, so my 600 simply does not provide enough coverage or penetration. I have looked at both roleadro and advanced platinum led's, but as far as RIU members are concerned, they appear to be of low quality at best...I have a budget of about 200$ (300$ if the product is just perfect for my needs). At that budget, should I just use compacts until I can afford a real COB LED? Sorry for the lengthy read everyone! Thank ya and happy growing.

http://timbergrowlights.com/200-watt-citizen-clu048-4-cob-grow-light-kit/ they have a discount code TREES and you get 25 bucks off this is perfect for you. build them 2 on one side of your 600 and the other 2 on the other side.

This appears to be the best option for me so far. Expensive, but effective. Do you have to wire the lights yourself? I mean, I am sure I could if that's the case, am just curious as it says "DIY" in the title. Thanks so much CanniHelpYou, I appreciate the info! Any further information is also appreciated. Happy growing.

so they come pre wired all you have to do is mount them to a frame. Be creative you can add more cable to extend the cobs further apart. Ive seen people hang the cobs on chains with no frames.

And yes I'd likely do mine without a frame since it is just for supplemental lighting inside of a tent, the tent itself should provide plenty of places to hang the lamps. Thanks a ton Canni!
