Room hot as hell because of 600w hps

So my grow room is hot as hell, and now it is cooler out here in phoenix, and my wife is ready to shut air off, well my 600 w hps still produces heat alot of it to, my last grow rooom temps peaked at 96, but stayed around 90 when on 77 when off, still had massive yield off 4 plants. so today i ordeded a evaporative air cooler off the net, spent 150 and now see that they wont work worth a hell.

Questions- can i open the window in my grow room, most bugs are gonna die when its cooler, and have a double thick screen on window to room, will i be ok doing that.

has any one in az used the air cooler, and what can i do with this heat i have it ducted threw with 400 fan pulling heat goes carb-------light-------400 fan and its enclosed damn wtf can i do.

thanks

You might still risk fungus gnats because they're small enough to pass through the screen ... but Yes.

The other thing that would help a lot is to exhaust your air away from the living space ... outside or into the attic. cn

Haven't looked around in a while, good to see you canna

Anyways, I can only run in the winter here in Texas as I don't want to pay ac cost. During summer you need a way to vent out. In winter you should use it to help heat the house of possible. Winter with Windows open I'd run lights on at night. My room would be 80 degrees without central heat being blown in. I'd be screwed if anyone looked at my house with ir.

Sounds like you need to buy a "closed" light shield and vent it out of the room..........this will greatly reduce the heat coming from the lamp. Return the cooler and but the reflector. Problem solved.

He might also want to consider a charcoal air filter with that system

It does not sound like you have any ventilation for that light that is your problem, venting you light and grow space is just as if not more important than your lighting.

I have a closed light with a carbon charchol set up venting out with a 400 8 inch outtake fan. it goes carbon char---------light(enclosed)--------outtakefan sucking at the end of those,

Where is your intake coming from and what is the temp? What type of fan is it? Do you have a link or pic?

sounds like you're just dumping the air back into the room the tent is in.... find the air return for that room, then blank it off with a piece of cardboard, or a piece of ductboard or sheetmetal, using cardboard as a template first, then put an 8" collar through it. run 8" flex from your fan to your air return.

Anyone ever have the fear of sticking their fingers in an inline fan? What would you do? How would you take apart to ducting to recover your fingers with only one hand? Could they be sewn back on? This is one of my biggest fears in the grow room.

I will admit that once, stonedly, I stuck my fingers in there. But I chickened out before receiving a Craftsman manicure. cn

For this reason, I have a speed controller on all of my inline fans. Sometimes I'm a little too medicated and this fear flashes through my head, so I turn them mothers down and do what I need to do lol that would hurt so damn bad
