rooting a clone without hormone

Salicylic acid from willow bark or aspirin works, I have heard. Why don't you try taking some cuttings and giving them nothing but straight water? See if they root?

Well for starters, a cheap seedling/clone box on a heat pad works wonders. You can root a clone using water only but it takes forever compared to using hormones.

i need some methods of rooting a clone without using any type of hormone or root gel? any thoughts?

Willow water get some young shoots from a willow tree and steep them in water out in the sun for a day. The water works just like rooting hormone gel/powder.:peace:

So, kinda like with decorative flowers? You just sit the clone into water and let sit, would this be a better method for larger cuttings?

you can always air layer. scrape a section of the stalk all the way around, (leave it attatched to the mother plant) and wrap the area in wet rockwool and the aluminum foil. the chinese have done it this way for 1000's of years. it takes a little longer sometimes but usually is 100% successful

For woody stems mostly can cause rotting for green soft stem plants. :peace:
