First go I had a blurple and miss handled my plants, started with best intentions. Had success but needed improvement. Took clones at week three of flower.
Round two I did much better, upgraded my light, the plant didn’t get so wild but still grew too tall. And I removed a little too much underneath but not embarrassingly . Again took clones week 3 of flower.
Today I am here, the plants are only 7” tall. My question is how long should I veg till I flip? I’m in a 3x3x6 with 2 plants. I know she will stretch 2.5 times or so.
Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

My question is why you keep taking clones that far into flower? That’s a time burner waiting for those to reveg.
if i had enough room for a veg tent i would run 2 rooms, this seems to buy me extra time so by harvest time the clones are growing again, and i can put them into the tent.

Great question like who told u that week 3 of flower is when u want clones ? Lol
i believe the proper term is monster cropped, I was playing around with it after the first grow just for fun. My original plan was to keep a mother, but as fall came she flipped on me.

I see your trying to time your start I get what your trying to do I just still feel taking clones from veg is the better way because then even if they grow bigger than you want well just keep topping and training them

In a six foot tent I'd say two feet.
Accounting for a foot of ceiling space for lights, and a foot, foot and a half space from the canopy, that gives them a foot and a half to grow.
They probably won't stretch that full amount either. Strain dependent of course.
What are you growing?

Ayahuasca Purple, allegedly almost all indica. It’s true she didn’t stretch round 2 as much as the first go. First flip was at 12”, second was somewhere around there

If you flipped at 12" and it grew too tall for your tent then you have to dial in the lights better.
SF2000 is about 200W.
I'd slam the lights down hard on the plants, they can take it with that unit.
You can make plants grow squat with a little practice.
Generally the higher the lights, the more they'll stretch.
Just watch them daily . They'll tell you if the lights are too close.

Thank you, right now the light is as close as recommended, per instruction manual, how close are you suggesting?

Around 16 inches to start.
You’re not gonna harm them in 18 hours of light at that distance and you’ll know by then if they like it or not.
You can use your dimmer to try and find the sweet spot also.

It can be a nice practice. I almost always take my cuts about 3 weeks in. Right during lower defoliation.

Now that being said this practice takes probably a higher skill level and also strong healthy doner plants.

it can be done. Is commonly used and if I ever saw aslow down to rooting it’s a day or two at best. Much easier to keep a mom, take cuts as needed
