Round Two!

So my first pair, died. Lol I am dead set on making something grow. I will do it. So with that being said, here is round two. I got SkyWalker, and White Widow. Got some plastic, drainable pots. Some Miracle Grow potting mix. As well as some Miracle Grow indoor plant food spikes. I’ll throw in pics of all of it. I just potted them this morning. So far, they’re looking good. We’ll see what they look like in the am, but for now, they’re still upright and I don’t have any drooping. Thank you everyone that tried to help with the first pair. They both died, I think I just did to much, over handled them, and had the wrong set up fto start with. I’ll post updates if and as they come lmao everyone have a great day, and feel free to let me know what I could do better, or throw any advice or tricks my way!!

They shouldn’t need any extra food using that stuff. I’ve worked with miracle grow before and it’s hit or miss there are some threads on here about just using miracle grow soils if your needing some extra info. Good luck hope it turns out better this time.

You mean they should need any extra food using this soil? Or using the food spikes? Like if I use the spikes, I shouldn’t need anything else? Or I shouldn’t even need the spikes using this miracle grow soil? So far I haven’t stuck a spike in either one. Figured I’d wait for them to get bigger before I started giving them any of that. But if your saying they don’t need the spikes at all, then that’s cool. I don’t really want to give them the spikes anyway. I’ll go look and try to find those threads. Any idea what category they’re under ?

It’s always a good thing not to use “ extended release fertilizer / pelletized “ such as miracle grow. It provides a single ratio ( NPK ) all thru grow regardless of the changing needs of cannabis nutrients. Think a one and done “ general “ feed that May overpower the plant in nitrogen during the bloom phase when nitrogen should be less .

Some growers crow about this brand - others find out it burns from excess. It continuously feeds every time you water.
Some tried diluting this soil but end up making things more problematic.
I tend to think miracle grow for ornamental plant use over fruits and veg ….. Scott’s is the rebrand and Monsanto partnership.

There are some growers using it for cannabis - but most prefer feeding according to stages of growth - hence peat based / coco / etc.
Time will tell what the plant can tolerate and if excess issues will show.

This is why miracle Gro is hard to work with it’s a slow release soil and you’ll get spikes of nitrogen and things whenever you don’t need them and to create a proper feeding schedule is really hard because you don’t know what’s really being released at that moment in your soil I know some older gentleman that swear by miracle grow and use it every year with good results their results would be a lot better if they didn’t use miracle grow but to each there own

You come on here stating your determined to make something grow.

Are you determined to make weed grow doing all the wrong things?

Because that's what it seems like.
Instead of coming on here and pointing out the obvious (which is why I’m on here, asking questions, and trying to get feedback from seasoned growers with knowledge and experience) how about tell me some things I can be doing right. I know I’m doing something wrong. I’ve personally said that in other posts. Why else would I be asking for help? If everything was great, and I knew exactly what to do, this post wouldn’t be here for you to put such a blatantly obvious, and frankly inadequate response on. No shit I could be doing something better. I know that. You got any advice? Any tips? Or you just going to continue to state the obvious for whatever gain you got from it?

Thank you for the advice! Now that I’ve already put them in the miracle grow, would it be okay to take them out after receiving the fox farms soil and just put them in that? Or is this more like when I go up in pot size, to use the fox farms from that point on? I don’t want to do any harm by transplanting to often if I can just wait until I naturally have to go into a bigger pot. But if there would be no damage done, then I have no issue with switching them as soon as the new soil is here. Also, any preferred nutrients that you’ve had good experiences with in the past that you can name? Right now I’m just using bottled water. I have no clue about when to start a nutrient cycle or which to use at which stages. With that being said, I don’t know what to buy and use. Obviously I can figure out ratio when I buy it on the bottle, but that’s the only self explanatory part that I know of lol

I would run as a “ water only “ grow for now - let plant exhaust what it needs on its own terms …. NO spikes or other nutes on top of this medium.
You can actually get some growth in - shop around for a different medium / ocean Forest / sunshine mix #4 / Promix / Dr. Earth / etc. ….

Then transplant. Plant will be fine . Look into a simple dry fertilizer like ( Dr. Earth Homegrown or Premium gold ) or Megacrop or something like a simple 4-4-4 NPK feed. A simple tablespoon or two ( depending on final container size ) , scratched in then watered in will breakdown over the week to recharge what has been used by plant ….. Many Growers have their preferred choices in dry fertilizer.

But it is extremely simple.

Here is mine :

“ Soil “ - EB Stone ( Recipe 420 red bag ) - I find it superior to ocean forest , but Fox Farm ocean forest works well and is already loaded with goodies. Matter of fact , Ocean Forest can be “ cut “ 50/50 with a general potting (mild ) soil for good container grows too.

Dry Fertilizer:

This my current choice …. Just take it as my opinion.

EB Stone 420 “ Recharge “ VEG / “ Ultra Bloom “ for bloom
Easy Peasy.

Happy Frog Fruit and Flower is good also

Dr. Earth ( another great 2 part fertilizer )
Flower girl ( bloom ) / Homegrown or Premium gold …. Or LIFE ( good stuff )

There’s Megacrop and others …. DTE BIO LIVE is another fantastic option .

Bottom line there are way better options over miracle grow …. Full Stop.

Holy shit. Seems I triggered you something fierce.

This is your 2nd grow. You have wasted time, money, and resources. One would think before going and buying all the wrong shit you would have come here and asked "what should I get"

Sorry man. I struggle with those who just go for it without doing an ounce of research

With that said. If you want good advise here it is.

Use proper soil. Use the proper nutes. Don't over water and for fucks sake stop pulling leaves off of your plant. That last one is pre emotive as we all want to but many of us just fight the urge. Unfortunately new growers are notorious for it.
