Just Some pics of the grow box, so far

wanted some advice on how to keep this beast from overheating it actually gets pretty warm, i need to get a digital therm. tommorow.

anything else i should get other than the therm, i was also thinking of getting another pc fan, or get a small desk fan to fit into the box.

any suggestions?

You need to have fans blowing in, and fans blowing out of your box. If you don't circulate fresh air thru that small of an area, it will get way too hot even with cfls. What do you intend to do when your plants reach the lights????

your right auto, im going to get a couple more fans in there tommorow asap. so far in the box i have one fan circulating out, thinking of putting another fan on the lid and another intake on the side somewhere.

my first thought would be to keep the plants as low as possible maybe use lst. on a few plants. but if it really is out of control then ill just put them outside, ive heard that even puts stress on them.

am i missing anything. im going to look for a desk fan to install in there also.

thanks for the comments keep um comming.

what seeds did you get, sativa , indica,...indica I hope if you are going to try to keep em contained in your gro box...If they get too unruly you could always remove the lid and suspend your lights from the ceiling.......

Not really other than removing the lid and hanging your lights like i said earler..if you get enough fans blowing in and out you should be ok...Oh tell cuz he can send me some too...........lol..............

AND WE ARE OFF!

So i planted the seeds today, took temp. and humidity tests to see where we are at. im at 94 f and 51 humidity. im running the lights 24/0 but thinking 18/6 would be better for the temp. and give it a chance to air out.

thinking about putting another fan on the lid, but so far the fan, and intake i have are working so far but another fan wouldnt hurt.

So the seeds i planted are "papaya" strain and its from nirvana seeds.com (great website) needed some advice on how to keep the temp down.

Got Some Pics As Well

(sprout is diffrent strain)

That temp is going to cause problems........bigger fans circulate more air thru your box ........mabey you could mount two more fans in the lid pulling the air up to the lights then out of the box this would draw the heat away from your plants.....

I think if you intake in your tub and exaust out the lid it might cool it down enough...............how many fans do you have total??????

Any other suggestions for the temp problem. i heard you can use frozen water bottles to cool the tub down as well. but it also raises the humd. but that isnt a problem right now.

I 'm not sure what kind of funds you have to work with , but you can get a 4 inch in-line fan {they are like booster fans that go in airconditioner ducts in your house] for $20.00 at home depot.....then there is a thred with step by step inst. on how to make a carbon filter from suplies at walmart, for under $10.00....I made one about a week and a half ago and it works great.....youre gonna need this any way because when your babies start veging they are going to be smellin dank......this would pull prob 4 or 5 times the air thru your box and get rid of the smell at the same time....thats what I would do anyway.......what do you think???

That sounds great auto, your a great help. so ill be sure to stop by home depot and take a look at that booster fan, im sure ill be getting it. but just for tonight im going to let it run and when i get up during the night ill let it air out. but the sprout plant is a strain that is made for outdoor/indoor. but mostly for outdoor. its been reacting well to the lights and the sun. waiting for those sprouts.

patience my child, patience
