I will be running a CO2 generator. Will this be a huge waste of propane? Should I keep the AC units air intake separate from my growroom?

Or can I simply have the AC unit sitting in the growroom with the exhaust running out the chimney?

personally, and being a chemical engineer, i think the co2 in ,most grow rooms probably equals outdoor co2. rooms are just not airtight and most growers are pulling negative pressure anyway. tested mine with a co2 meter and there was no difference.
however, weed seems to do better with more co2 than is available in the outdoor atmosphere. so, long story short, adding co2 is supposed to boost your yields compared to no added co2.
as for the intakes, yes, i would have them pull air from the general attic area but not the grow rooms.

i hope you never plan to use your chimney again.. be careful of the kreasote when cutting, it can ignite, wet down your chimney first homes. home depot makes a 1200cfm attic fan... food for thought. ozonator on your exhaust pumped right into attic, ac heat pumped out into attic, big fan pulling it out inconspicuos vent on side or front or back of your house.. if you insulate your grow area, which being in an attic you should, and seal around your ac, then i think you'd be fine, no need to james bond the fuck out of everything. kiss keep it simple stupid..

Could I pull my air from the grow room? I just ask because it would be much simpler. Would this work? Or is this not a good idea? I am also worried about drawing from the attic. It will get very hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

ah,misunderstood as i thought it would be easier in the general attic area. yes, no problem putting it inside the grow room. it won;t hurt your co2 or temps as long as your room has an intake into the grow room

It doesnt have an air intake into the room yet. I was hoping to keep actual fresh air flow to a minimum. But like you said there is no way my room is completely sealed off. I thought that would be enough.

you're right, it'll probably be ok. but you'll make your fans work harder if you rely only on negative pressure through cracks. a small intake with a baffle you can tweak will allow you to maintain negative pressure with the least drag on your fans.

I will install a small intake fan. I also am probably not going to use the chimney. That is if I can find a good place to dump the hot air. I am worried about snow melting on top of my roof in the winter. Thanks for all the help. + reps

dude, cut a vent worst case scenario, a 5in hole saw at harbor freight, whole kit 5$ a roof vent from home depot for 20-40$ it'll diffuse your air, use an ozonator so you have no smell a 600 cfm inline fan pushing it all out, wont look weird at all, and snow wont be suspicious, use ploy shield, line your attic with it erase your heat signature.

Check out My Room bro I have almost the same type of A/C setup with the back simply venting into what would be your attic and then a temp controlled Attic Fan to vent the excess heat and it works great.
P.S. Co2 is getting close for me all I have to do, after modifications made just this weekend, is put an outside air tube on my 250W hood (which is now my exhaust point) and buy the Co2 system.
