Running into some problems. week 4. pics.

I'm a noob, first grow, please be gentle.

So it's been four weeks since the first one sprouted. since then one of the plants has been pretty vigorous, the other not so much. I had been watering them at the same time, every 2 to 3 days. the one poorer plant developed these brown blotchy spots, which spread up the leaves, the lower set got them first and sort of crumbled away, then the next set up has gotten them.

My other plant seems to be doing okay, but it's starting to yellow from the bottom up. I am wondering how bad this is? what does it mean? what can i do to remedy it if anything?

So it's week 4, I water every 2-3 days, one day last week they got too dry and drooped a bit, I watered them and moved them into bigger pots. could this be a stress reaction?

I started watering last week with a small dose of bonsai fertilizer that has a balanced mix of NPK, and a ton of other stuff, copper zinc etc.

as of now I do not test the ph of my water, and it comes out of a fish tank, which I've heard is good for houseplants, but i should probably be testing the ph.

any ideas?

There's a number of things that yellowing could be. It could be stress from the transplant, or possibly a nuetriant burn. Make sure your not feeding them clorinated water, or over feeding them with the new ferts. Could also be because of salt build up in your soil. you may want to flush the plants, let dry, and then start them out on a half strength fertilizer. what kind of soil did you put these guys in?

the soil is just cheap potting soil from the store. most of blotching started before I transplanted, or started with the fert. the yellowing is sort of new, but i want to say it started before i fertilized. I really don't think it's the fertilizer, it's much weaker than the 20/20/20 type stuff i've seen other people suggest, and it's specifically designed to prevent salt build up.

the soil though, the soil might have something to do with it. like i said it's cheap old run of the mill potting soil, with pearlite, and with nutrients. I mixed about 30% sand for drainage. i'd really like to know if this is normal, and if it will kill my babies?!?

So do i just mix a bit of molasses into the next watering? how am i supposed to feed molasses to a plant? and about how much is safe to feed them?

Molasses is fine and you can use it thoughout your grow.

So what i can see here is Deficient P (phosphorus) in the 4th pic + someother's.... yellow on second pic looks like S (sulfur) deficientcy

3rd pic is K (potassium) deficient

Keep using this new fert you have, but make sure its a very mild solution. Mild meaning very weak!

Look for solutions online or on here !
