Russet mites

This morning I found a plant in my little ghetto veg closet that had a big nasty yellow mass of russet mites on the fan leaf petiole. I was in a hurry so I grabbed the plant and set it out on the patio and left. When I came back a few hours later to toss the plant the mass of bugs was completely gone. Where did they go? I didn’t manage to get a pic and now I’m starting to question my sanity. Guess i didn’t expect them to move that quickly. I did set the plant next to the wall where there was a big spider web. Wonder if the spider went to town?

Not my pic but it looked just like this. Plant was all droopy and shitty looking too. I’m not that concerned about the other plants. It’s just a little outdoor closet I use for overflow. It’s got all my extra clones under a t5 cause I don’t wanna toss them and don’t have anywhere to put them until outdoor season starts

I have neem but for mites I use floramite if I’m still vegging
You sure they were russet mites? Never heard of them doing that.
If you do have the russet and don’t want to ditch everything. Gotta spray the right shit before flower.
Forbid
Pylon
Rotate those 2 a couple times. You can add in avid into the rotation too but it doesn’t work as good as the others. And all 3 of them are translaminar not systemic.
Those fuckers are a bitch. It’s not ideal having to spray shit like that but you gotta get em now or you’ll be dealing with them for a long ass time :-( spraying organic shit in flower is a non-stop battle with them.

Aero is right!

The only way to kill them off is to start with FORBID 4F.
and then 5 days later hit them with Pylon or Avid, and do this for at least 2 times.

These are the hardest mites to rid your self of.

Your next project after spraying them down is to spray down the whole grow and I would use a Pyrethrin product.
Thing is? You have to spray down EVERYTHING in the grow! I mean EVERYTHING TOO!

OR

You can pitch everything plant wise and skip to step 2. Spray away.

man people really do not read threads and instead just come in and start mansplaining

I appreciate the responses but I didn’t post looking for advise on how to treat them, I’ve got it. I was just asking where the fuck they disappeared to. That mass of bugs was there and then it wasn’t! If you’ve ever actually seen them in person, you’ll know what I’m talking about. It looks like a fungus.

This didn’t happen in my grow room so I’m not too worried. It’s just a tool shed closet full of extra clones that I don’t have a plan for. As soon as I noticed them i got the affected plant out then changed my clothes. Also showered before going into my main grow. And yeah I’m reasonably certain that’s what they are. Had that big mass on the petioles just like in the photo and the leaves tacoing at the base. The clones in my main room were all dunked in floramite when I transplanted into solo cups and don’t appear affected. These plants never got dunked.

Never had that happen to outdoor crops bro. You don’t even know you have em til you see the damage. Outdoor.

Not trying to be a dick. But are you sure they were russet mite?
I’ve unfortunately dealt with the broad and the russet from fucked up cuts. In and out.

Almost positive they were russet. From what I can find online, broad mites don’t group up and form a mass on the petioles that looks like a yellow fungus or a thick layer of pollen as seen in the photo below. The leaf damage on my plant looks exactly like the first photo I posted as well.

I just found it interesting that when I pulled the plant out it was covered in them but when I came back an hour or so later they were gone. My post was more a “where the fuck did they go” post rather than asking how to fix it. The affected plant got binned and the rest of them got sprayed by floramite. I may just end up tossing all of them anyway. They’re all extras anyway.
