i put my babies in mg organic soil the other day because the roots were outgrowing the peat pellets. today i noticed that the fan leaves were getting spots and drying up like it was getting nute burn so i wanted to know is there a way to flush out all of the nutes in mg organic soil so that my baby can be back healthy again

some say yes some say no, but that stuff is usually time released ferts so it would probably just be best to transplant into something else, but if you cant do that, flushing is the only other option, might help.

A very good question, i have MG Moisture control and i too wanted to know if it can be flushed? Seems like running all that water through it runs the risk of actually releasing even more nutes, thus doing the oppisite of what you want.

well MG soil is not that nuted up that w. a transplant your plant should be suffering. dont use other nutes if you are along w. watering. flushing may activate the nutes but if you have excellent drainage, you should be fine w. removing a lot of the nutes.

my plant is still a seedling (7 days from sprout) and im scared that flushing will overwater it, will flushing b safe for my plant @ thisw early age. also i understand the process of flushing but how am i supposed to know when all the nutes are out, the soil is fresh the plant is a baby and i havent used any other nutes n it, so how long to flush until?

it's all about drainage bro. you can flush everyday bc if it drains well, ur plant will not drown at all, u can tell if it the nutes are coming out if the water coming out looks yellowish. i would not flush if you do not have excellent drainage. also, new plants have the tendency of having a few sickly leaves. look at the new leaves, are they yellow too? if you're worried you can cut the "bad" leaves off at the stem, carefully of course.

i dont think she is mature enough for any trimmed leaves, but i will take your advice on flushing

it's depends on how many leaves. if you do cut the few bad leaves, then the plant can use all it's resources on new ones. you should post a pic and ppl can help a lot more. obv. if ur plant has only 2 leaves then yes dont cut, but if you have 6-8, or 2-3 pairs, then you could if 2 have serious issues.

w. excellent drainage, you'd be surprised how "dry" the soil can get.

miracle grow is good soil. there is really not that much jutes in it. when it says it feeds for 3 months it is referring to house type plants. plants that don't get fed every 2 watering. i've used miracle grow for years with excellent results.

your plant was over watered. now that you dumped a gallon of water into the soil it will be lucky to make it. over watering can kill. :peace:

if you have good drainage it doesn matter how much you water really, unless if you have continuous watering. most ppl do not have proper drainage or leave their plant in tub of stagnant water which can cause root rot.
