Salt build up

I’m growing in 100 gallon open bottom pots using 80% sheep manure and 20% promix. For probably the last month I’ve been watering with jacks fertilizer added to help keep the plants happy. Should I worry about salt build up ? Should I do a regular plain watering every so often or is salt build up not something to worry about outdoor

How big are your plants? 100 gallons is for plants like 8 - 10 foot wide and tall putting out like 8 lbs a piece or more lol. That much manure would worry me about alot of other problems rather then just salts. And like Ganga Gurl said, why manure and synthetics if that's what your fertz are? It's my understanding the plants shut out the natural stuff once you "force feed" synthetics.

I grow in manure myself. 400 gallon boxes I made ...however when working with any type of compost (manure or otherwise) adding synthetic nutes to it kills all the micros.

When starting with organic soils and composts it's better to amend the soil with organic dry nutes and then it's just a water and go. If anything needs an extra boost you can make teas. Of course there are tons of organic liquid ferts out there and most have added bacteria to keep your soil alive and thriving. If done right you really dont have to add any nutes if the soil is dialed in right. Might I suggest reading from the organic section.

P.s. here is mine from last yr...(just amended manure) my friend is 5 6received_1694837713978592.jpeg

It’s what I had on hand, this is my first real grow. Any other time I just threw a few out and never took care of them and they never amounted to anything. Next year i’ll Be better prepared/educated. They appear to be doing ok, was just concerned about salt build up. Maybe i’ll Stop the synthetics and top dress with more manure

Have you been using any Epsom salts for magnesium? (Its not a salt fyi just mag and sulfer) marijuana uses a lot of mag and it's important to give it to them.

Just give it a few good waterings to flush that shit out of the soil.

Do use more perlite then if it was a 50/50 soil compost mix? I'm using black sandy clay soil mixed with a fine mulchy compost with manure already in it and added about 5 gallons of perlite per 65 gallon pot which has probably 50 gallons of mix per at this stage, about to amend and top dress a few inches of just compost heavier in flower nutes this week if my fractured toe will let me lol.

I dont add perlite or anything to mine. Never had to....tho I'm slightly considering it for this coming spring. Either that or rice hulls because it's more environmentally friendly.

Till they run out of rice at least lol
Lol... seriously tho...there is so much hay mixed into my manure it keeps it fluffy and the drainage is like nothing I've ever seen. It just instantly goes in. Like I said tho...I'm half considering it just to see if it will Make a difference in mine but for your blend heck yeah I would use it.
