The double rows I use actual heatsinks from alberko a company near me. They have website https://heatsinkonline.com/
For less wattage 20-30w I just use aluminum U bars, not pretty but who cares. I meant 16 strips before 8 bar.
I've done a few lights but here are the 2 used in larger areas. One in use now I bought a shell from PLC and did some mods to make the strips fit. That one has the double row strips , but also a bunch of singles "q-m-h" that I doubled up. Drivers are meanwells 240w-ab. And a couple MW hlg-150

16- L09's - drivers are Autech 400w x 2

Looks good, mine full tilt is about 30w a strip with my driver selection, I have it mounted on 1/8” plate, seems to be ok.

Now this pic and the build you did, was with the L09 strips, yes?
And 12 strip's on 6 arms will fit my 4x4?
Or is it the sixteen?
And also another question ❓
The MW hlg-150, you are using those for the red's and strip red's?

Your is awesome,I remember seeing it awhile back, coverage has to be almost even. Have you done a par reading?

No, I been too cheap to grab one. I do have a phone app, Who knows if it’s accurate though. Need to grab one before plants go back under for sure.

The last pic is all L09's. The double row we've been talking about. Each 8 Bar I have are right about 4'x4.5'wide. The strips are 22" each. You want room on the ends to mount/drill ect. so if you butt them together it'll be right at 46" with the 1/2"-1" on the ends. It'll be tight but if you use actual heatsinks, they won't get that hot. So a 6 bar 46"x46" 480-600w will rock.
The MW hlg-150w are 24v so it's being used on some of the single row strips on the other light. Double rows are higher voltage. The reds are being powered by little constant current 700ma 30w mw. Like $10-15

The photone? I've got it too and paid the $5 for "full spec" seems ok and the backing from migro is a plus.

Yeah, I paid for the full spectrum LED unlock as well. I ran the light for a flower cycle, plants re vegged, ended up running pretty much full dim the rest of flower, gave up in like week 15. I was running 2 mechanical timers on 9 drivers and they were within 10 mins apart. I’m not sure what caused a reveg but it was related to the lighting. Decided to make another room and hang that led in there, running my 1k DE again on a couple cuts currently while I build that room.

That app was 1200ppfd plus at the tops, I didn’t bother checking much past that, 800-1000 at the walls, I don’t remember if that was full blast, I was slacking pretty good.

That's crazy and shitty...I wonder if the timers were just messing up?.. always a fear of mine, I just noticed a leak in mine. Hoping it hasn't done anything , on week 7/8

Yeah im not sure exactly what went down, will make some changes and eliminate the possibilities, make a quick par map at a few heights, should go better. Was the first time I flowered with led, prob sent it too hard.

I think if the leak is constant, would be better then inconsistent, my reveg never recovered really, it was just the higher colas too, was fucked, finished best it could anyways and the smoke is still good, running the same cut again, I know they can do way better lol.

So the fold able fixture you have there is the 8 strips?
But the one you have of the 16 strips is 4' x 4.5'?
and end to end the 'L09" are 46" inches long, when layed out 2 per row!
Thank you in advance

-End to end L09s (2) are 44" - you need room on each end for screw holes to attach side bars. Unless you attach from the top. So it can be 44"-48". However you wanna do it.
-the fold 8 bar E6499939-C682-4438-9BC0-3C1FEF9AB9B2.jpeg
Is all L09's (16) - the side bars are aluminum TBars, the wide double ones. You can get those in any length. But no matter what if you go end to end, it's at least 44" wide that direction.
-this one (using) is a PLC aluminum shell I got cheap that's 4'x4'CBCB5593-D83A-4105-A608-CB22514E126C.jpeg
It has 8 L09's and the rest are Q,M and H series strips that I laid side by side to basically make a double row.
my bad if I wasn't clear earlier.bongsmilie

Maybe surges from the drivers. Are they the deltas? MW?
im growing in a panda room this go, I fixed my leak, now searching for nanners daily:bigjoint: fun times creeping around trellis.

I've done 12qty. Butted back to back x 6 bars. Wired all in parallel, wasn't bad. Those strips max out at 65w ish but you lose lm/w higher you run them. If you ran 12 at 50w max you'd be rocking a 4x4 at 600w-37.5w/sqft.

Will see what becomes of the price.. right just over 11.00 per.
Thank you again for the links and ideas, always good to ask someone more experianced than oneself when in doubt.

No problem and good luck. It's addicting once you get going. Keep in mind the damn tariffs, they're more than the strips themselves. Buy more than you think you need so you don't have to double down on the BS tariffs. Also if you add strips to your cart, leave them there, you'll get emails when on sale.. I've even gotten discounts emailed just for letting shit shit in there

Nets are annoying, part of the reason for a new room, now I will roll around in a chair lol. Drivers are 7 LG’s and 2 deltas driving the outboard strips, 12 strips, ran out of lg drivers.

Teknik isn't here to defend himself, but as a distributor of these products and someone who works with Teknik on various horticultural projects, I can address most of these claims.

The link you provided explains much of the background of Buddies, but there's a bit more to it. Here is a quote from the link, from the horse's mouth so to speak.

Teknik travelled to China with @Prawn Connery a couple of years ago to do some groundwork on future projects. Prawn speaks the language and lived in the region for something like 15 years, so he know's his way around China better than most "white boys". This is background you won't get from reading the forums but it emphasizes that there is always more to a story than you may realise.

Buddies housings were initially developed for outdoor advertsing. That's what makes them so robust. There was no point in reinventing the wheel and it is no secret that Buddies are manufactured in China based on an existing concept.

That's where the similarities end. A rebranded plastic housing is one thing but it's what's inside that counts. And this is where none of the Chinese manufacturers you link to will compete with what we sell. In fact, I for one would welcome anyone on these boards trying to procure any of the following for a better price. If you can, we'll buy them!

Each of these products has customised LEDs and PCBs inside. Perhaps if I explain how they are made, you will realise that – like the China story – there is more than meets the eye.

View attachment 4926301

This is the 660nm Buddies string. Inside each housing is a custom 2V PCB with a high efficiency 3535 660nm monochomatic LED. How high is the efficiency? About 2% less than the top "G" bin Cree XP-G3 (and you try buying "G" bins from Cree – the yield is so low that thay are almost impossible to buy in large numbers).

So let's try almost 4 umol/j – which we all know is close to the highest efficiency available from any manufacurer of any LED.

Here is the Cree "G" bin – 4.01 umol/j. If anyone doubts the legitimacy of LED Teknik's testing facility (more of which I can post below), this is exactly the same efficiency that Cree claims of their 3535 "G" bin 660nm LED.

View attachment 4926310

Here is the chip that is used in the 660nm Buddies – 3.94 umol/j at the same current (350mA).

View attachment 4926311

Now, who would like to be the first person to try to buy these in China? Again, if you can find the same rugged, water-proof housings with the same 180-degree diffusers and 3.94 umol/j LEDs in the same 24V format (2V x 8 LEDs) then please let me know – I will buy them off you!

I will be here waiting. In the mean time, let's look at the 730m Buddies – they are one of my favourite.

View attachment 4926315

What LEDs do you think are in these? What if I told you that the LEDs in the 730nm Buddies were almost exactly the same as Cree's XP-E2 series? Let's have a look.

I think you guys are now getting the picture that these are no common plastic-housing LEDs that anyone can buy in China. A lot more work has gone into these than most people give LED Teknik credit for. Fortunately I am one of those who has been given an insight into his work, so I am happy to buy his products and retail them without hesitation. We (Grow Lights Australia) stand behind what we sell as much as we stand behind LED Teknik's products.

Would anyone like to know about the 4000K CRI90 White and PC Red Buddies while I'm here?
So where can I get 2 strings of these for my new build?

Hey there SBBCAL
So while I. Waiting for the strips to come down in price.
I have this question, How much will VPD Be affected by the light output compared to what I am running now?
My tent is currently lit with 2 fixtures.
One. A Hydro-Crunch burple lamp. Max out put of 240watts. And a viperspect 100watt lamp.
Thank you on advance.
