San Diego Cat Piss

Just got some San Diego Cat Piss × Stardawg beans and I'm trying to find some more info on the Cat Piss side of things. There is not a lot of info on web so I thought I'd reach out to you guys here at RIU and see if anyone could shed some light on this strain for me. Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

San Diego catpiss is a legendary clone only strain that was very popular in the mid to late 90's. Some said it was a SSH pheno but this was later proven wrong. I can't remember what the actual lineage is. Rank, meaty, ammonia-y FUNK. Actually smells cat-pissy. HUGE yields and absolutely covered in trichs.

If you don't like offensive, musky ranky dank smells/tastes, you may want to send them this way for testing. :fire:

Dude I haven't seen cat piss in norcal since like 1999. Man I still remember the smell. Maybe it's nostalgia talking but that was some straight up fire back in the day.
NOW, there are 2 catpiss strains in circulation. possibly a 3rd. San Diego catpiss, Norcal catpiss (more meaty garlicy and finishes quicker) and I've also had "pittsburgh catpiss"; but I (and others) suspect it was the norcal catpiss that made it's way to the burgh and blew up.

I hope I can help, I'm not saying this is the same catpiss, but, I grew some cat piss in the Burgh in '93,'94,and '95. I had received 25 female seeds from a older gentleman in the fall of '92. He stated he acquired sativa seeds during his tour in Vietnam and had breed them to an indica to make what he referred to as catpiss. This specific catpiss would bud even on the fan leaves, had large yeilds, truely smelled like catpiss, but had a strong skunk taste when smoked. One plant each year would shoot out a small male branch close to the bottom of the plant and I would get female seeds for the next year. I ended up losing the breed when I didn't have one to breed itself and no indoor room to clone it. Although, a friend took a cutting to NC and kept it alive for a few years but lost it in a divorce. (He got paranoid the ex was going to turn him in for his grow room).
I found that The Cali Connection had sold seeds of the socal catpiss at one time. When I emailed Swerve if he was going to offer it again, he replied, probably not.

i was thinking it was a ww or bw pheno. i know you can find a ww with a nasty cat spray(tomcat marking his territory) smell.

Love what I'm hearing guys. The danker, smellier, and meatier the better! Indy or sat dom?? One thing I have heard fairly consistantly about this strain is the huge yields. Right on! Crossed with the Stardawg these beans should sprout some straight fire. A little about the Stardawg, it's Chem 4 × Tres Dawg. I believe the Stardawg comes from genetics worked on by JJNYC. I read somewhere that the Chem line he works/worked with comes from clones from the original Chemdawg stock. I could be 100% mistaken but I really hope I'm not! Either way I'm confident the genetics in these beans will be awesome. Gonna be a 100% organic grow using the following, Espoma Organic soil, Cornacopia Plus Grow, Bloom, Energy, and Formula X. Ewc, asst guanos, molasses, cal/mag, Microbe Life Hydroponics Photo Plus and Nourish-L, epsom salt, and a silica boost. For the silica I haven't decided what brand/company that I'll be using. Just waiting for my light, a Mars Hydro Reflector 600 watt switchable LED and 420 watts of CFLs for side lighting. I'm really looking forward to this grow because I have a lot of confidence in the genetics I'll be using. Once I get things started I plan on keeping a grow log here at RIU so I can share the progress good or bad.

early (92) to mid 90's cat piss was everywhere in San Diego (along with Bullrider, hawgsbreath (not the bullshit tenn. hogsbreath and my fave P-91)

By 99 or so it was getting harder and harder to find. BUT I do know that both Norcal and socal catpiss made it to the east coast, specifically Florida. So it's not at all far fetched you would have smoked some in NY that were the same lines. To ME, Norcal was more meat, garlic and socal was more ammonia cat spray.

I had all those cuts and ran them for years. Then I had to take a quick break for one month. I gave all mothers to a good friend (good friend but an IDIOT). I said," whatever you do, just let me know before you flower them so I can take cuts."

I see him a month later and they're a month into flower and covered in spider mites. I freaked out on him and asked what the fuck.... His reply? "Well I knew you were really busy and didn't want to bother you.":cuss::finger:

A seldomly seen but important old school “building block” type of strain, the San Diego Cat Piss, is a grower’s dream. Originally sourced by ThaDocta, personally in 2004, from the San Diego area directly at a very heavy risk and financial cost. An intersting story and experience to get this girl, but boy was the strain worth it! Heavy Yields of absolutely stunning looking, smelling, and tasty plants are a guarantee. Smells will range from old school, great tasting skunky kush/hashplant aromas to the heavier ammonia skanky phenotypes that will be difficult to for even the best carbon scrubbers in your drying room to handle. The Cat Piss mother exhibits extremely frosty and large bud formations with a unique “curl” to the leaves that are covered in trichomes. If you’re looking for the plants like the Cat Piss momma, look for that leaf curl, stockier well branched plants, and early resin formation! This herb will leave you smelling skunky anytime you’re around it. Almost like the “skunk urine” hunting sprays like “Code Blue” . Showers and scrubbers needed.
