Lets start a movement....all marijuana smokers and growers. Lets make sure these people don't ruin all of our lives. The ONLY way to stop this is to NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. If they get $200,000 licenses from the City of Oakland, whose city council is about to ruin the lives of thousands of people, these superstores are going to flood the market with inexpensive, and very possibly harmful cannibis. Once the big boys get their hands on things they like to put shit with "ine" for suffixes. They like to get you addicted to substances like nicotine. Who the hell knows what they are going to be putting in their strains. The system as it is, is perfect. Now that it is being taxed it would only help the city to have corporations come in and sell mass quantities, so the tax revenue can go to....who the hell knows....the city? Doubtful. What is going to happen is these superstores are going to eventually grow into "TAX SHELTERS" and get grants and funds from the government, same as pharmacutical companies. So lets see, the big cultivation companies involved in tobacco and pharma....R.J. Reynolds, Phillp Morris, Bayer (who sent AIDS in Aspirin to Africa, a fact they admitted to). Are you all ready to let the old boy "man" kill all of us pot smokers, like they've been killing tobacco users. (natural tobacco isn't harmful, only the additives are)

I am not ready to see my small growing friends (and small I mean maybe a pound a month growers) losing their only current source of income because some brainless idiots in the Oakland city council want to ruin the livelyhoods of thousands of people, for a buck. Stand up and fight by not purchasing ANY marijuana grown by a company larger than 10 people. If you do YOU are contributing to crime in epic proportions. The city said that by starting these "licenses" of which only 4 are given out, that crime would go down. No. What is going to happen is the corporations are going to be allowed to grow 10000kg and you, who grows more than a pound is going to jail. There should be a federal mandate outlawing large scale marijuana cultivation over say 10 pounds of "high grade weed" OR 20 pounds of "low grade". That equates to about $50,000 a month. These companies are literally going to be growing enough to be making MILLIONS a month. And it's going to be legal for them....not for us.

Once again even our local governments are looking at the dollar bill not the welfare of their constituants. LETS ALL STOP THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you believe in small growers, with good strains, and a community (ALL of us smokers) that is more friendly than any other in the world, then make your mark here first and keep this thread alive. Thanks everyone. :joint:

Agreed whole-heartedly 100%..
I am not American, I am Canadian... so this issue doesn't really pertain to me..

But I agree.... Cannabis should come from 3rd party sources... and "homegrown" sources.

And I for one, will never... ever... ever.. buy weed from an organization.

Oh no, don't offer me a huge selection of legal cheap cannabis. That would be the WORST!

You guys are nucking futs.

It's going great in my house. I don't buy ANYTHING from Walmart. Why? Because if we all stopped buying from Walmart, there wouldn't be Walmart. There would be thousands of jobs lost, temporarily of course, until small business owners started building again, and people were willing to spend a few extra cents for better items or the same items with better service. Like I said. It's up to us, if you still shop at Walmart, but you hate them, you're a hypocrate and who cares. I personally hate them and don't shop there. I also don't buy Starbucks, or games from GameStop (who owns litterally 80% of the nations video game market) I shop at ACE Hardware, not Home Depot and Lowes. I find deals by individuals, often I'll even trade. Nothing wrong with the barter system. Get out, talk to people.

LOL Seriously. You would rather buy your cannabis cheaply not knowing any of the byproducts introduced into that cannibis that might harm you. It's people like you, that will drive 2 miles to get to a Walmart to buy milk for 3 bucks because it's 3.75 at the corner store. It probably cost you .75 cents to drive 4 miles in the first place. Dumb. I'll pay more for NON-taxed, true genetics that I know are good, female cannibis, that doesn't suck. If you wanna smoke some cheap shwag from the local Weed R' Us, then go for it. The rest of us will be smoking our good stuff while you're in the hospital with cancer because of something they put in it. Not for me man.

that sounds terrifying. although, i have faith in the common pot head to not let themselves buy shit, and by shit i mean shit weed, from wal mart just because it is inexpensive. if there is a flood of shit weed, dank weed will be worth more, idk what implications that might have, but it's not good.

You need to see the bigger picture. This is about the government, FDA, and insurance companies. You are not a steady source of income like big business. You actually think they would produce shit weed? Are you kidding? So it might not be medical grade but it won't be fucking swhag and yes I shop at Walmart, I save there.

After it goes full legal the FDA will get to throw their warning labels on it then the insurance companies pick up the tab. There is a much larger cycle of money going on in this country with Marijuana being the new cash crop. Think about it, you grow your MJ with the best products YOU can get your hands on. Big business will be able to access EVERYTHING and it would have to pass FDA approval. Civilization has outgrown itself for mom and pop businesses to survive, this is a new era.

i think that is the point, keep mom and pop business alive. I think the stigma of commercial herb will not help their sales. It might create more revenue for the state, but think of the small business that keep the money in the community. Unemployment rates will be on the rise, once again. Hey, it is a capitalist country. Maybe the small business' should think of a giant co-op that can rival them. nothing a few caps full of bleach couldnt take care of. DOA.

How would unemployment go up with the legalization? If anything it would create new jobs. As far as I know there is no mom and pop MJ stores around currently, just drug dealers that don't pay taxes.

full out legalization? never.... they will not rewrite fed laws, even with obama not letting state and fed laws contradict each other. 35 states cant get mmj passed, let alone federally legalize.

Once California passes the other states with follow within five years. Did you even look to see how many states have it up for vote this year? Everything rides on what happens in Cali. It is the new cash crop.

all kinds of states have had it up for a decade already. and have turned it down a handful of times. the point is, take the big business out of the picture. what is your point about compassion centers? you said no mom and pop mj stores are around. So.... they are everywhere. If you saying fully legal sales, whelp different story.

Sweet, now we can all think like 420god and assume that the FDA knows what's good for us. You are soooooooo naive.

There is nothing good about the government profiting from cannabis.

Wait until genetically modified round up ready cannabis is on the market. I can't wait to get my hands on that shit. Foolish.

We should all be this enthusiastic about industrial hemp. Then EVERYTHING would be cheaper.

It must suck to live in a world where you think everything is against you.
