^^^ you need to PM DAWG....I have a guess on your swings but DAWG would know for sure, he's an experienced hydro grower.

Good luck.......

"I found that in Hydro when the pH continually goes down half a point each day along with the ppm going down the plants are hungry and you need to raise your ppm"

Went ahead and transplanted the SLH, started them with 120ppm (3ml) of Cal/Mag- will start dosing grow nutes next friday.

Thanks for sticking around psuargo

Glad to see youre in the midst Dawg, hope you are feeling better brother.

Went and checked it out, ppm down to 540, taken in about another 1" of water, and ph at an awesome 5.4, and the right has ceased to yellow, though I cant say wether it's starting to green up quite yet.

Son of a bitch. I do not like these 5 gallon totes, once I get the new set of lights in I will be going back to my 10 gallon scrog totes for ease and less checkups.

SLH seem to be happy in their new home, a bit crowded as of right now- but itll do. Thinking about scrapping the left Tangerine Dream, it is about half the height of the right, purple stems, Calcium spots...just doesn't look happy, might as well make room for the keeper, right?

Snapped a couple shots, will upload them once I figure this computer out. (I think I have pics of weeks 3-5 so you can all get back on the same page)

Thank You My Brother Its Amazing What A Couple Of Bowls Can Do For The Mind And Spirit.I Notice You Have A Bit Of Cal Deff.I Add My Nutes At Day 10 From Seed (Usally)I Start Out At 400 Ppm And Thats Including The 10ml Of Botincare Cal/Mag.2nd Week I Bump It Up To 550 Ppm 3rd Week 750 Ppm.If Im Using Veg Nutes I Never Go Over 750 Ppm.I Will Run My Veg Nutes Into The 1st Week Of Flower.I Noticed You Were Runing A PPM Of 550ish In You 5th Week Of Veg Imho Thats Way Too low And Will Cause Your pH To Drop More Than Usual Because of The Low Ppm In Veg.

Thank you big Dawg, Ill be swapping my res out tomorrow then, 10ml of Cal/Mag to what?

Ive been having some internal conflict- you and I have spoken and we've talked of dosing up to 5ml/gallon, but ive also heard that keeping it at 150"ppm" is what needs done... So, i am a bit torn, because I have a true respect for both parties.

I raised up my concentration of Cal/Mag by 60ppm this last batch, no negative signs....

So here's what Im thinking...
-Res change tomorrow
-250-300ppm Cal/Mag
-500ppm Dyna Gro
-Toss the Left Tangerine Dream and open it up in there, gives me a chance to watch the affects of the nute regime on the one.
-May start dosing SLH a bit earlier than usual (Monday instead of Friday)

After Having Some Cal/Mag Issues Myself Im Now Mixxing 10ml Per Gallon And I Havent Noticed Any Ill Affects.Brother Different Strains Require Different Amounts Of Cal/Mag What Im Trying to Do Is Find A Happy Medium Between Lockout And Difficenies.I Just Might Add 5ml(PerGallon) Of Cal/Mag Only To My R/O Water For The First 10 Days Before I Take Her To Full Strength Nutes. In Short Brother Were Always Learning And Trying To Find That Happy Medium

You can catch my drift with underfeeding them, pretty lime hue- with the left TD having those Cal/Mag spots, though I thrashed it last night :finger: Needed the space and it had about half the vigor the last seed had- So I am running with this one, going to be taking clones at some point this weekend, and then will be flipping to flower once shit is rooted to determine the qualities of the seed's pheno... we'll see.

Going to be changing the res out of the TD tomorrow with ~750ppm, thinking this lady is gonna eat it up, she guzzles... 250 CalMag, 500 Dyna Gro.

Then going to start the Super Lemon Haze on a light regime, probably about 250-300ppm, 150/100-150.

Enjoy your weekend every body!

Look at those fucking trichs!! It's all about quality anyways. I am super stoked... heard too much good shit, that and I have gotten 10 Space Queen to throw down after I find my SLH mother. Good times :eyesmoke:

what are your water temps? I read somewhere that anything over 70f hurts yield and growth, was wondering what you thought

It's a little tricky...

-Nutrients in your solutiion become more available (soluble) in warmer temperatures
-Dissolved Oxygen levels decrease as temperatures rise
-Pythium, aka. root rot, starts to grow at temperatures above 75*, along with other bacteria
-You can use your nutrient temps to offset your environment temps- Im talking if it's winter out and your environment wont get above 65*, throw your res temp up to 72-73 area to compensate, it gives you less shock. And vice versa.

I never let my res go above 72-73 degrees, just to play it safe. 70's my sweet spot- they say 68, but I have also read an article called "Defining Stress" that goes into the different kinds of stress we can put our plants through, for a positive outcome.

There is Physical/Mechanical, and there is Environmental/Abiotic

Steering towards Vegatative
-Lower nutrient strengths, less Osmotic Pressure, easier uptake
-Warmer nute temp's
-Lower difference in Day/Night temps
-Air pruning
-LST

Steering to Flower
-Nutes just under their max capacity, salts stress roots
-Worry your roots, lower water levels will make them think availabliity is limited, ie work harder
-Change nutes one hour after lights come on, Canna's Coffee
-Larger diff, gives more stretch.

These are just some notes I jotted down in my phone when I had read it... take it as a grain of salt. Again, I try to keep mine between 69-72*'s, constantly.

Hey brother Herk, glad to have you along for the ride. Thank you for the compliment, though nothing but respect goes out to Vet's such as yourself. SLH seems to be very popular, which actually pushed me away.. I'd like to run something that isnt very common; but what can I say when there are such great results!! You just cant argue with that! lol Along with flavor... I need to install that new time machine in "Narnia" asap... Definitely a Sativa, productive buzz lover; otherwise I wouldnt get a damn thing done around here..

Actually in the process of learning how to change out the plug in a sink, newb home owner. lol Everything's a learning experience, that's for sure. Thought Id jump on the 'puter to calm down a bit haha..

I have had persistent problems with BF's Tangerine Dream, went through ten seeds... they just didnt seem to work for me, I finally found my last seed to be contributing a little bit of love, the one that's pictured. Though all the issues could very well have been the genetics, it could just as easily been what I was doing. We'll never know... Ive seen some decent runs on here, but will flower this puppy to see if it's worth keeping around.

Tangerine Dream, before res change

2-9-13 III.JPG2-9-13 IV.JPG
2-9-13 V.JPG2-9-13 VI.JPG

The res level's were VERY low last night, like... 3" under the pot, lots of exposed roots. So I changed my res out about 1 am last night- tucked some fan leaves back under, towards the main stem- you can faintly notice this in the last two pics.

Continued on my LST and let all of the new shoots surface to the light, going to cut some clones later today some time.

Res Change Details
-11ml Cal/Mag- 260ppm
-10ml Dyna Gro- 510-520ppm
-4ml Ph up
@ 62* Cold start: 780ppm, 5.9

2-9-13 I.JPG2-9-13 II.JPG2-9-13.JPG

Youll notice the Right SLH has a slight tip burn on it's far right leaf,- temps had shot from 77 to 82 yesterday- could be this or nute burn. Res is at 130ppm of Cal/Mag. Roots have exploded since the Cal/Mag was thrown in... I have a serious love/hate thing with this stuff..

Figured I would sit and smoke on it, may toss in 100ppm of Gro in the morning. :blsmoke:

Enjoy your Sunday every one!

Looking green great job those roots look beast thats gonna be some good shyte.
Thank yah Pitt, she's growing about an 1" a day since the res change, now about 13"

Though I am having some issues getting my PH to not drop off in too short of a time, was wondering if anybody would care to give some insight on this?

I have read pythium, other bacteria, and hydroton to be the biggest culprits.. but roots are good, temps stay within range, and I wash the medium before/after use.

The only other thing I think it could be is light getting through the totes...
