Scrog multiple strains

I was looking to do a scrog grow of 6-8 different strains under 1 400 watt HPS. My only worry is that I have no idea how long each strain will take to finish and it could be difficult to pull one plant out without disturbing the others. Suggestions?

8 different strains with a scrog grow under only a 400 w?? might be better off with a sog as that is typically used with more plants. Either way watch em closely and make sure they dont tangle up with each other before they get to the screen. whenever its harvest time just make a little more cuts on the plant than you normally would (cut off individual branches instead of trying to pull the whole plant) , as that should help you safely remove them from the screen and keep from disturbing your other plants. Also i"d have your screen tied down before to prevent it from being flimsy or allowing the plants to push it up. hope that helped!

Well I decided I will go with only 4 plants. Is the screen even necessary? I was planning on LST'ing these 4 plants for a bit to keep the height down. The screen was more of a second line of defense to keep it away from the light. I know if it veg's longer it will be bigger at harvest, but I don't want my plants too close to the light. So which week should I start to flower?

My grow box height is 5'.

The first question is really up to you, and depends on your preference. If it was me I'd use the screen to help aid with horizontal growth and training the plants. As for the last question what strains are you running, is your light is cooled? typically in scrog growing you want your plants to grow at a pretty even rate, so that you can develop an even canopy and not have one plant (or cola) sucking all the light from above the screen while your otheres are struggling to survive.

5' isn't a whole lot of wiggle room to work with.
Like a moron I quit training my plants the day I switched to 12/12. And they grew an extra 2.5'-3' tall from there on out..

screen is better than having to tie every large cola down somehow...not to mention most sativas need staked just so they don't droop over and snap...at least get some trellis netting save yourself lots of headache later..

It doesn't say how big the holes are in the net. Is there something better, or recommended for use with scrog?

For my first scrog I used chicken wire, which has been a pain in the ass. The sharp edges are constantly snagging my pants.

You can see where I'm going with this. 2"x2" holes are recommended. But anything you can find along those lines will work.
