SCROG screen too full!

These plants have gotten too big for their screen now that flowering has started. Does anyone have any tips on what I can do? Or should I just let them go and grow a little smaller next time?

These plants are just starting the second week of flowering today. As you can see they are too big for that little screen. This is a 5 gallon hempy grow with a T5.

I would lift the screen higher. I personally use a screen but dont put it in till about the 2-3 week of flower. This allows all nug to be on top of the screen. good luck

Nice grampa. I'm trying scrog coming up. Curious question: How are bigger scogs able to see to check for hermies? I enjoy your posts.( older guy too)

It certainly would be difficult. I dont worry so much about a few male flowers when I have more than a few plants crammed in one area. Ive only had one plant hermie since ive had this mother.

could you not add a larger screen on top. might be a little bitchy to harvest but I can't think of any other option.

Are you talking about a screen over the current one? I didnt do it because i didnt want a lot of moisture to build up between the screens where the plants are thickest. There is already a lot of transpiring going on and i dont want mold showing up.

I did consider your idea though and I may still do it.

The whole idea is to fill that screen, and I can still see yours. I'm sure in a few weeks it will be hard to find, but I'd say you'll be okay.

A very close to full screen.

I know this is an old thread, but for anyone looking for future answers that screen doesn't look too full to me!

Now if you want to see a screen too full/flipped a little late, check my current grow out! I'm in day 4 of flowering, and I'm at 90% capacity...oops. I'm growing monsters: 2 x 39l 6 week veg in 1.2x0.8m, and 4 x 30l 6 week veg in 1.2x1.2. Should have switched to 12/12 at 50% screen :p Photo attached is just day 2 as I didn't take one today.

Tuck them back into the screen, thats what its there for, I’m doing my first scrog right now too, but you have to grab to taller stalks and pull them under and around the screen I also use zip ties and run them along and around wires in the screen and I trim leaves that are blocking lower growth sites fro emerging into the canopy. From what I can tell you have plenty of room to spread out those future colas.
