Second ever grow. 5 weeks into flower. Thoughts and help w clawing/yellowing

Hi all! Im a newbie grower.

Long story short Im growing two plants and would like input from more experienced growers on how they look in terms of ranges for amount of weed they could produce and how to fix clawing and yellowing thats been going on. Been growing since June 29, (topped each once in July before using SCROG) flipped them to flower August 27th. They are in 10gal pots in a 48x48x80 tent with a 300w LED light that I have at about 70% power (the leaves start closing if I give them more). I have been using foxfarm exclusively for soil and nutes. I did switch to heavy feeding (1/4C in 2.5gal) when they got huge. Recently the leaves around budding sites began to yellow and claw. Ive been giving them just water because I thought they were overfed but its just slowly spreading more. Humidity has been stable in the low 60s whole time.

pics included and for any wondering, I had four and two were male (bagseeds), so that’s why the two are off to the left. I did snap branches moving them over to the right but idk if that is a cause since unsnapped seem just as likely to not suffer yellowing or clawing.

So w that should I keep using just water or try a calmag etc? And how many grams or oz would you guys say they look like they can produce? Thanks you in advance and lemme know if I missed any important info or site rules!

Your overfeeding I think because you see burn and think they need more food that's your claw. The tops look like they do because of proximity to the light. They are getting to much and look very close in your pic. I will let a Lil light burn go if I'm close 2 harvest. But if you have 4 week plus of flower 2 go your gonna end up with totally dead sugar leaves in your colas begging to turn to bud rot

There are strains that actually get that leaf curl without having issues, the og#18 I had for example did it while being absolutely healthy.
The burned tips and clawing is what i'd be a little more worried about, but as prophet already noticed, you're pretty darn close to your lights.
The rest of the plant looks pretty healthy might have a little mucho of Nitrogen in there. (waxy shiny very dark look).
Feeding every watering?

My 2¢ … ( suggestions )

First , trellis didn’t work to well since you needed to weave growth into it. That will level your canopy better.

Now for the tall buds - I would “ carefully “ string them outward ( it should be possible since stalks are long ) LST training , that way you can re-center that light. Light is kind of in a slanted position. This will alleviate the tall buds from being too close to lamp. In the future if you have some wild growth , you can supercrop to temper it.

Once , trellis is off , you can also spin plant to light up any side of plant that may need a light bump.

other than that - lookin good .

Thank you for the advice! Yes I went on vacation for a week and a friend was watering them but didn’t move the plants into the SCROG during stretch so one touched the light and burned. Its getting better now but I will also try to get them further away from the light to avoid but rot. Would reducing the light from 70% to 40-50% be advisable as well?

Yeah my trellis failed cause I went on vacation and while I had someone to water them they didn’t weave the branches as they stretched. Unfortunate and I will do better planning for that in the future. I will try to reposition the tall buds today as you said, that should give the lower buds more light as a bonus. My issue with the light being close is its getting to the roof of the tent and so the fan setup now sits on top of it. I’ll just have to reposition them both very carefully. Thank you for your advice and compliments to the ladies!

I was feeding every watering, but for the past week I havent fed them because of the curling and burning. I will also try to move the tall plants away from the light and raise the light up if it can go any higher.

Thats why I mentioned spreading her stems like a thai hooker :bigjoint:

I only suggested these things as if that plant was mine.

Centering your light will allow you to bump power too if you want as those tall lady parts are not directly close to light.

Luckily I bought some plant ties so hopefully they’ll be out from right under the light and stay there.

If you really cant get your lights any further away it's a tricky situation.
With the height of your plant you might lose alot of penetration imo.
Still better than f*ckin up your tops.

I'd bend the shit out of that top bud to get more distance and leave em at 70%.

The main issue is my fan also hangs up from the roof and is basically sitting on the lights at this point. I will try to just move it to the side, just been nervous cause I dropped it the first time setting up. If I do that I should be able to get much more height for the light and have it centered. Tricky w the tall buds in the way but I gotta do something. I will also use some ties I have to try and bend the stems but I don’t want to go too far because its week 5 and snapping them now seems very risky.

first remove the ratchet straps and put the light directly to the bar with zip ties or something. That will buy u another foot back. Try to move the buds and raise the light. The true problem isn't only heat from the light but that the tops close 2 the light are acting as a shield catching so much light before it can spread out. Turning down the light will decrease light 2 the rest of the plant drastically and the top will still be stealing all the light

I'd say you're doing pretty well for a first timer . When I grew a certain SSH pheno I had a hard time keeping them from growing into the lights , I did a lot of super cropping but it gets a bit dicey by the point you're at . Pinch or twist too much and the stem will snap . I'd do like Budz said and tie them down .
