the only reason why i think marijuana is really illegal is because anyone can grow it and sell it...and theres no way for the government to keep track of this...there fore the government cant charge us taxes for growing it.. they make no profit!! soo what to they do.. MAKE IT ILLEGAL ... but why isn't medical marijuana illegal? because the government gets a portion of the sale.. aka tax of the sale..

no, if marijuanna was legal, people would not grow it because corporations would grow acres of it and it would be cheap as hell. People would be buying it taxed but all the different growers would be competing. Therefore, the price would instantly lower and the variety would grow.

i kind of agree but disagree, why?

well because like u said if it was legal yeah corporations would grow acres of it and sell it for cheap and the US will make money of the taxed goods. yeah i agree with that.. buT!!

since its illegal, the US makes more money on major POT growing raids, confiscates more goods, and charges wayy more expensive fees. It also makes a balance.. making marijuana illegal provides more jobs, aka DEA pot busting groups. those groups get paid to bust pot growers..from their checks they get taxes deducted .. its all about money.. money money!!

but the point is america lied and said that it made people evil and crazy but it was because or racism. isnt tobacco everything weed is except adictive and kills people. they replaced something they couldn't tax for something they could tax. that would now result in a decrease in taxes brought in from cigarettes so they wont change it.

no, the us puts billions into the "War On Drugs". But, it never slows the business. They might as well make some money for the declining economy through legal taxing.

it all comes down to money.. why do marijuana dealers grow and sell marijuana??? to make money.. why do crack dealers sell it?? why do people cross drugs overseas and across the border?? to make money!! lets say the government spends a couple million dollars to stop smuggling for 1-2 months. in a month a dealer brings 80 tons of marijuana and crack ... do the math and the dealer does more than the government, and the government cant tax him..

it would be like

government: heres a million dollars stop him (drugs/smuggler)

smuggler: haha fuckers i brought 80 tons i'll make 90 million in a month..

government: fucking fuckerrr he made more than us and we cant tax him,, we have to stop him
congress: lets make his shit illegal.....

Government/congress: hahahahahhahaa take that fucker....

Smuggler: noooooooooooo!!!

money got into the governments head... when have u heard a politician complain about "damn lunch was expensive" or "i like that car but i cant get it i have to pay my home loan" ... they make laws that will benefit their political image and same time benefit their wallets..

The war on drugs is a billion dollar business that has funded and created swat teams, multi-jurisdictional task forces. It buys helicopters, advanced imaging devices, it funds spying on the public. It created lax laws that allow even more business to big brother.

The war on drugs is now being toted as a war on Terror. Believe you and me, the faces of the people I see are not terrorists. I'm sure that ending prohibition on marijuana would do exactly what ending the prohibition on alcohol did, take the profit from the thugs and drop crime rates significantly.

The war on drugs, specifically marijuana does more harm to the people who are fought than the drug itself. Legalizing it would stop millions of plants from being grown in guerrilla grows. Only us would be growing our own. And think about it, some of us would be making money LEGALLY off this by providing advanced strains, research and development of advance cropping techniques.

This is a win win for everybody. It all starts with either a reclassification of the drug from schedule I to Schedule II or III. Talk to your senators, there is enough evidence out there of the medicinal uses of it. Doctors recommend it. If your upset, make a change.

Oh, and stop buying it from people who buy from cartels. The buck stops with you too!

well, i always think it's funny when people say that making things legal will lower the crime rate. Of course! the crime rate would be 0 if there were no laws! just saying i always thought that was funny/
