Seed harvesting and curing

So, the ladies went Herm on me due in part to a stress factor of tyhe greenhouse door getting left open during a 39* low evening. I think this is what caused the stress anyway.

I decided to let them go until I saw seeds and then cut them. After a close inspection of the plants I found seeds only on a few branches so I harveted all, but those few branches, deciding to let the seeds mauture.
The problem is that after searching for an hr. now, there isn't a lot of info on maturing seeds and then curing them.

Should I leave these plants to just die on there own and then harvest the seeds? Or is there an optimum time to harvest the seeds?

Then proper curing and storage.

There are a lot folks on here that are web growers and don't really grow, so if you fit that bill then please keep your responses silent. I want responses form folks that have practicle experience with these questions, based on facts and experience. A complete rundown on the proper maturing, harvesting and curing is needed on this site. If there is already a thread and I was searching using the wrong key words, then that link would be sufficiant and this thread can be deleted.

Thank you all.

Seeds made from hermi plants have more of a change of being hermi from my understanding... And a mature seed will fall to the ground not stay in the buds for the most part

The first few pages should answer your questions. You should be able to see ripe seeds poking out of the buds when they are ready. I don't think you can over-ripen them, but you can mess up and pick them early. Once you harvest, just lay them all on a paper plate or something in a dry environment for a week or two. Then you can put them in an envelope or something and store them for quite some time.....or poke them in soil. Good luck.

Seeds shud be left on the plant for atleast 4-6 weeks on plant cut buds some will fall off hang dry them with something to catch the seeds as they will fall out easily take seeds and put in a warm dry dark place for a week then your done make oil from the seeded buds

If the hermie is genetic you do not want the seeds. If it was caused by stress you are ok. I would just look at the seeds and if they are look mature, such as dark, striped etc. you are done.

They almost fall out of the buds when mature. They break through the calyx and you can see them. After getting them out of the bud I let them sit out for a few weeks to dry out. Then into a air tight container and into the fridge.
