Seed are my preference even tho i run more clones. I usually take a cut before flower just incase it's a keeper.

Biggest disadvantage of a seed is its a crap shoot you might get unlucky and waste time. I would not buy clones, only make my own. So I try 2 always be running all clones except 1 new strain to minimize the possibility of a bad harvest

Seeds. Until I find a pheno I'd like to grow every year. Plus, the hunt is fun, especially since the proliferation of banks and choices. I do the same with strawberries and tomatoes.

Seeds for me, too. I always look forward to getting that one special cultivar...I usually get some surprises -both good and bad, but, hey, that's gardening, isn't it?

I run seeds. That way I can pop what I want when I want. I'm of the opinion variety is the spice of life and won't grow the same strain twice. I grow for personal use not production/profit.
Clones will always be a genetic copy of the mother, same grow same feed needs, predictable reliable dependable. Clones tend to preform slightly better and be slightly faster then their mother.
The answer to this question is dependent on your grow goals.

I will only rarely ever flower from seed. Seed stock are moms. Clones can be taken so they're all the same or similar size, making it alot easier to deal with light height, training, pruning etc.
The issue on both ends is time.
If you have time to grow from seed, and have the room for moms, then take clones you're good. Otherwise it can set you back the time it takes to grow out the plant large enough to take clones, wait for the clones to root, then veg those clones out. If you plan it all out proper you can keep production rooms pumping out flower with no down time in between with clones.

Just stick some cuts in warm, wet soil and they grow roots, not very difficult. Put a soda bottle dome over the cup to increase humidity while they root.C2846FB3-73CA-4276-A529-F62C6A11C9AE.jpeg

I pop seeds until I find a phenotype of the strain I like. I keep 3 strains in circulation, usually get clones off the bottom of a plant going into the bloom tents. I'll make a mother if I'm trying out a new strain. Harvest a 4x4 every 3 weeks

^^^^^^^^^this is ideal^^^^^^^
I'm working on a plant count so I don't keep mom's or extra clones. Would love to find a spot just for moms.
