seed, sprout and light?

I germinated using papertowel method for 48 hours. Nothing popped. I planted 1/4 inchs in potting soil. I turned lights on for 18-6 for 2 cycles than realized I didn't need light until they sprouted. I turned light off and put clear wrap over cups that have seeds and soil.

Most of the seeds rose the the top of the soil now. I checked one seed and found out it has small roots below soil but it looks like a seed still. My questions: Do I start light now, or wait until they sprout with 2 leaves? Does the seed require light to go from seed to tiny sprout with 2 leaves?

Get them on a heating mat and cover the lid with plastic or saran wrap so its moist and humid. I germ my seeds in my Clone Humidity Dome. Once you see them pop, get lights on them. If you dont have a heating mat put them ontop your water heater. Good luck

Once the you have the seed spourted and planted in the cup and covered
with plastic I turn the lights on to keep the top of the cup warn and the
seed will grow to the light. You need to keep the baggy/cup warn and
streamed up wet but not too wet. Here's how I do it~
