Seed will not pop

Here's what Dutch Passion Seeds does advise (they've popped a few seeds one can assume):
  1. Get cotton pads (the kind that ladies use to get rid of the war paint).
  2. Place cotton pad on a plate. Spray with water.
  3. Put seed on cotton pad. Cover with another cotton pad.
  4. Spray the second pad with water.
  5. Cover the entire setup with foil.
  6. Put out at room temp and wait.
Now the seed will germinate and grow a tap root. Wait until the tap root is a couple of centimetres ("one inch") long.

Now take a jiffy pod or rockwool cube and place the tap root inside, let the seed peek out at the top. Wait until it has established.

I have not done this method before but will DEFINITELY try it next time I drop something.

Can I use a tampon instead?

Solo cups with coco coir is the best way, even if you're gona grow in soil, starting the seeds in coco is easier than doing so in soil. Baggie dome until it pops. Pull the baggie off once a day just to exchange the air for a second & put back on. Grow in the cup for 3 to 4 weeks, then transplant into whatever.

Why would seeds under the coco need air? The bags are a waste of time and materials.

The cotton pads are not tampons but similar to those round disc makeup removal pads. You'll find a few half used ones screwed up in the bottom of every woman's handbag next to a half sucked re wrapped sweet and countless shavings and open eyeliner pencils.

I might try the Dutch Pash way next time, I guess it needs to go somewhere warm to get all that condensation on the clingy film.

I could care less how many seeds Dutch Passion has popped. That's a completely unnecessary process.

Do you know why some of these outfits recommend germinating them before planting? So people can't claim they didn't sprout. If you plant a seed directly in soil and overwater it excessively like many do the seed can rot. If you do it properly that's not an issue. But the fact that people see a sprouted seed makes any claim of a bad seed false.

But seriously. Those germination methods are just stupid. They also have a guide for soil germination which they refer to as "the best way to germinate cannabis seeds".

I just put seed to soil but I wonder if not fully soaking the soil might allow for some extra growth in the first week .

I'm intrigued by the Dutch Pash soil method and simply fancy a try. It's nothing more complicated than what I do.

More air to the roots and a quicker watering cycle.

That's just personally, squeeze some extra growth, I won't be telling anyone to copy it but any constructive thoughts or anyone meter their water for germinating and first week?

Will go out on a limb and say that's a dead seed? Although I've been surprised and had seeds come up days after I had written them off, but again, it's just a seed.
