Seedling to veg

So I’ve been getting really excited to see the sporadic growth in my plants recently. I’ve given them a hint of nuts and they seem to love it. I transferred them into my DWC top fed tank two days ago (or three). I just don’t know whether to let the LEDs on them yet. I don’t want to jump to far into the water and burn them too early..

hell I’m even wondering if I’m in vegetative stage or if I’m still in the seedling end part. If anyone could help out, here’s some pictures of the guys (one even has his root in the container

I’d say you are almost past seedlings. Personally I veg until I see pistols then call it good.

what brand of led? Purples that say 600 are usually 200-300 watts. How big of a space are you using

I consider it veg after the 3rd or 4th set of leaves. What wattage is your LED? You can place your light 24 inches above the plant and lower it from there

I’m using a beautiful 5x5 setup, Vivosun for the tent.

One of the lights is:
VIVOSUN 600W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum for Hydroponic Indoor Plants Growing Veg and Flowering (120PCS LED Diodes) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077P386Y1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_CvGeGb00X5Z7Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The other light is
VIPARSPECTRA UL Certified 600W LED Grow Light, with Daisy Chain,Veg and Bloom Switches, Full Spectrum Plant Growing Lights for Indoor Plants Veg and Flower https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019ETLC7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_tyGeGbPAV1097

I’m afraid of this because I don’t want them to stretch too much for the light in my failed attempt in putting the lights too high up and have them topple over after stretching :/

I wouldn’t worry about them stretching like that.
if you had some cfls 2-3fy away yeah.

I have a couple of 100watt cobs that I veg with.
I run them at the top of the 62” high tent.
Most plants are 36”-48” from the light. 150-300 PPFD. My plants grow short and bushy if I let them. Tight nodes

With 600w lights what do you suggest? 24 inches?

Depending on what the actual lights are I’d probably say closer
I looked on the instruction manual and it said to put it around 36”-40” for seedling-early veg.
Idk if this is correct so definitely correct me if that sounds incorrect

To be clear I have found out the real solution to this. I searched up what each lights micromoles and then I found that seedlings/early veg need around 200-300 micromoles per second. My lights were emitting around 900-1000 at 18”.
I multiply my height by 2, and my micromoles are 25% of that of the original height.
That led me to around 250 micromoles a second, in which is at 36”.
Thanks guys!

I put much bigger lights closer with far more power

Viparspectra was measuring at about 400w of true wattage, then the vivosun was at around 260w so that’s around 660. Not saying your wrong at all. Just trying to get more clearance.

how far is too close for these seedlings?- too far?
Maybe just realized that, that’s the max wattage that the light can reach

They’re both pulling about 260 - 270 from the wall each. Unless you have a kill a watt showing different
