Seedlings in Heated Propogstion Tray and T5 light...

Hey all! This is my second time germinating seeds. I had a 21/21 success rate. Last time I just did a soak, planted in solo cups, covered with plastic wrap and placed under my T5 (90w). I had pretty good success but had a bit of stretch. Lights were around 10-12" away, lux read around 7-8k.

This time around I am using a heated propagation tray with a dome, and I planted the germinated seeds into rapid rooters. Same thing with the light, 10-12" away and a reading of about 7500 lux at the top of the rooters. I'd like tighter node spacing this time around if I can manage.

Last run wasnt too bad, they stretched a bit initially but eventually they tightened up once they went under my LED.

Anyone got any advice tips for a fella? Thanks!

Sounds like you're on the right path. 21 plants is a lot under a single 90 watt light. Maybe get a second light to increase exposure to the outside plants is all I can think of for better nodal spacing. Good luck!

They're packed pretty tight in the tray. They'll be going under some leds as soon as they're ready too. My fixture is 2'x8" pretty much, the whole propagation tray fits right under it. I'll keep a close eye on how it goes, maybe I'll introduce a second light.

Watch your temps! The heat mats are great, but be careful not to cook your seeds. I also would skip the dome, they're great for cuttings but you don't want to let your seeds get too wet. This is a great guide that will set you on the right path-there is too much bad/weird germination info out there: https://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide
