Seeds sprouting?

Hi guys i have a question after germinating seeds and planting them under soil wat is best to put them in the dark until the sprout or put them under light straight away??

Agree with everyone else and I would keep the light max distance and lower it as the plants get bigger. 70% sounds good for now, i would drop to 40-50 in a week or so.

how long do they take to break the soil its already been 3 days :S

I sow my seed in the soil once taproot is out under fluorescent.

3 days? how deep did you plant? Mines usually above soil and with leaves with-in day 1.

yeah that light distance thing is for more powerful lights.. if youre using flouros you can keep them like 2 inches from your plant.

I m using CFLs and they are 2 inch away they are probably bad seeds what is the best seed bank to buy seeds from ? cause I am having probs :S

yeah light straight away brings them up quick. and yeah seeds usually sprouting within a day or maybe 2. at least they sprouted though i guess it doesnt really matter happyy growing .. GW

^What i was thinking too. OP, do you think you might've planted it too deep? Mine popped through within 24 hours.

they broke the soil but they didnt sprout out they just stayed there the seed is showing but just stopped there

IMO- i would leave them to see if they sprout, i once did this too deep and they never ever sprouted, maybe due to other reasons i dont know. IMO
