Seeking knowledge, again.

I am a first time grower. I am either lucky or have a green thumb. All 4 of my plants grew large and healthy in organic soil and are beautiful specimens . One started flowering a couple weeks before the others and is in week 4 or 5 producing some pretty buds at this time. I have noticed that a few of the large fan leaves (6 or 8 of them) have begun to turn yellow and the leaf stem itself has a purple stripe on it. 2 or 3 of the leaves deep inside have died. Is this part of the natural progression of the plant? Is there reason to be concerned? Love this site. It has taught me everything I know and has gotten me to the point I am now at. Very grateful and very much appreciated to finally be growing my own meds. Thank you RIU community.

It's normal for the time of year. Too many leaves yellowing/dropping off at one time is not a good sign, but an occasional yellowing leaf here and there is normal. They are doing their thing, getting ready to die for the season, flowering (producing bud) is there way of making the next generation. So imagine it's giving all it can to insure the next generation (your bud) is prosperous...... I would still be feeding a little bit of nitrogen up until week 5 or 6. Most strains take longer than 8 weeks to flower so you shouldn't really count by the 8 week feeding schedule (if you are). Hope you have a great harvest.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was hoping you would say. I plan on feeding them one last time tomorrow and then let nature take its course. Its a very exciting time. I can't wait to get home from work these days just to go look at them. Gives new meaning to the phrase " watching the grass grow". Which I am very content to do.
