Chill... especially if your a licensed MMJ grower.

Last year... i had 5 MMJ plants (legal amount)

During a family dinner, helicopters began hovering 100 ft over my house. shining their spot light all over my street and even on my crop.
I looked down the street and cop car after cop car was arriving, posting in front of my house with M4a1's and flack jackets.

I went in my backyard... ripped out my plants.. and threw them away. one of the HARDEST and DUMBEST things i've done.
Apparently, the cops were looking for a fugitive on my street, and found him in my neighbors basement, and his gun in my other neighbors yard. They did a good job.

I have a friend who had a break-in at his house.... he had a huge plant in the back that went untouched, and the cops just pretty much laughed it off.

If your not growing a huge amount or illegally, i would hope for us to be OK.
I was high and paranoid when i pulled my plants... i replanted in july.
i felt horrible, like i aborted my children.

well they would currently be illegal seeing how ny does not have medical mj YET but do they use those for that type of thing or are those kinds of helis stricktly military

you mean like a chinook? those are for transporting. Iʻm pretty sure that for the birds they use the more versatile helis that are smaller and only fit like 2 ppl. The chinooks always travel low and in a straight line from what Iʻve seen and i grew up about 5 miles from an AF base and pearl harbor where there are military things going on 24/7.

Military use only bro.. mainly for transport of things such as foods; utilities; weapons; and stuff like that. Sometimes they even use them for parachute drills.. where they load the heli's up with soldiers.. and do parachute drills with them. I wouldn't worry about that type of helicopter.. seriously man.

Now, if you were to see a two man, single blade, helicopter.. that says 'Sheriff' on the side of it.. or.. 'POLICE' on it.. then.. and only then would I worry about it.

Good luck to ya's.

peace.

well thats a relief ya it was flying in a strieght line i even saw it coming back a few mins later what sort of flight patern should i look for if there helis are unmarked here

you live in new york? ive seen lots of military helis around recently they are not looking for crops just doing god knows what? wasting money? the one around here are flying at about 2500 ft they cant see a field of pot from where they are. i dont know about other areas and states i know cali has camp and military helis but around here they use white and blue state trooper heli. about once a year find a few plants say they took millions of dollars worth of plants of the street and everyone is happy. the ignorant ones for believing it and the growers for what a joke it is. dont worry so much youll never make it in this game.

They fly in grids when looking for crops. Unless you heard them fly back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth over over over again just moving over little(a football field) at a time more than likely they are not searching for crops. Oh and don't be so paranoid. Its kind of like when you are cruising down the highway and a trooper pulls next to you. Dont stare at him and look like you are petrified that he is next to you. You will be fine. When they fly over my house and I go outside and look up they deff turn around and circle my house about 5 times and then they go about their business and go back to flying grids. But then again I have nothing for them to find so I do it just to piss them off :D

A large "egg beater" type military helicopter like that uses massive amounts of fuel/hr. It is pretty unlikely that DEA or other LEO's would fly something like that for detection purposes. The current administration has made it clear that they aren't prepared to spend a lot of money on finding outdoor grows right now as they have prioritized their collective resources to more serious problems such as crystal meth and/or large scale growers. Keep your grows small and discrete and you should be fine.
