Select Pollenation...When to pollenate?

So i know there are some smart experienced growers here, hoping someone can help me out.

Ive taken pollen from a male, i have a special lady id like to get a few seeds from...she is almost 30 days into flowering.

I'm wondering when is the appropriate time to dab some pollen on a small bud. If one bud is pollenated, will it affect the rest of the plant(stop trichome growth)?

one more question, once i slap the pollen on a bud, it should stick right? i dont want that shit flying around the other buds

I used a qtip. Ya dnt need much. Turn your fan off when applying. lol
