self watering pots

I have a lot of house plants in these, have also grown herbs in them. Had my girls in it for a little while before taking them out for standard buckets.

My thoughts are this:

Too shallow, the bottome of the pot is taken up with space and the wick so pot isn't nearly as deep as they look

When you get a pot that is deep enough to accomadate what you want, its also so wide that you have wasted space.

Many times the over flow portion doesn't really work well, so instead of the water draining into the overflow to be wicked up later, it flows down the side of the fill spot and onto the floor (thats hard to explain without a demo, but its fucking frustrating)

You could accomplish the same task by putting your pots in a dish filled with water.
