Sensi lost any of their original breeding genetics in the mid-later 2000s.

They are nothing compared to what they used to be.

They dont even advertise their NL, and NL5 anymore, because they lost the original genetics. It is only advertised as NL, when it used to be advertised as NL5. There is a huge difference.
Same for their Hashplant
G13 x Hashplant
Mr Nice
NL5 x Haze
Sk1, just to name a few. These genetics are only a shadow of their former selves.

Same for Serious Seeds. They lost the original AK47 genetics 2x. One time in the late 90s, and then again around 2007-8. From what I know Sensi, Serious, and some other were victim to fires, and the cops.

Todd McCormick as the REAL DEAL Sk1 straight from Mel Frank, who got it from Skunkman in the 80s, and has not had the shit bred out of it into crap. They are available on Preorder, and he will send them by Dec 1st 2020. He also has the real deal Original, PURE HAZE. ALso from Mel Frank. He has all kinds of Original Nevils Haze Males crosses to elite clone seeds for sale also.

AKBeanBrains has all kinds of stuff with Early Sensi Seeds, Nevils Seed Bank, Super sativa Seed Club genetics for sale. Get em while you can.

Error above. It should read Sensi doesnt advertise the NL5, as NL5 anymore. Only NL, yet they still have the cup on the ad. Misleading.

I got a pack of their NL last year. as @jimihendrix1 noted, it's no longer labeled as NL5, just 'Northern Lights, F5'. It was really disappointing. It's hard to separate the problems caused by the genetics and the ones caused by me, but it had a lot of problems my other plants did not. Really airy buds. Both plants hermied; the first one was manageable, the second one pollinated everything in the tent. I tested a few of the beans and they all hermied too.
I guess most importantly the finished smoke was CRAP. It was like all paranoia, no buzz, with a nice thick headache on top. If you've ever been a desperate young stoner in a prohibition state and tried to smoke a bowl of stems, it was a lot like that. Similar flavor, too.

AkBeanBrains, and The Green Stash probably have the best NL5 genetics.

The Green Stash also has Original late 80s NL5, if they have any more for sale. Ive got packs from both breeders, but havent grown them yet, and will most likely interbreed them, and also use for hybrid breeding when I can.
The female from AKBeanBrains is from Marc Emery in 1992, and I believe the male is 1989. These are most likely Sensi Seed Stock, and their original NL5 back then, was killer. NL5 from Sensi was good/killer up until around 2007-2009.

Dont let the AKBB NL5 get away if youre looking for really good NL5.

I've spoke recently about two bumper crops of sensi skunk #1 that was very disappointing, like above its difficult to tell what's plant and what is grower but it yielded well so I suspect that I wasn't far off, coincidently at the time I used bio nova which I thought was possibly to blame, maybe not?

I've got sensi blackberry atm there's 2/3 beautiful smelling phenos but still 5/6 that aren't special, I'm sure they'll be nice but not special, that said I've still a long way to go my views may change you can never tell.

We have ordered or obtained seeds from Sensiseed bank twice. The first time 8 years ago a friend sent us back a large order for half a dozen friends who gathered their money, Over a dozen strains were shipped back. One single source for all was done to simplify running arpund by our Friend all over Amsterdam! We were universally disappointed . I ordered a 10 pack of NL5 x California haze. Very pricey $ 385.00. WORTHLESS -LITERALLY UNSMOKABLE. Well
do you get on a plane go seek restitution and smuggle back yourself. So your screwed.! Last year ordered from Oasis which did a great job on their part to stealth deliver quickly, but they were only middleman shipper and I foolishly ordered some Jack herer And White widow from Sensiseed bank again cause they were both strains I knew and loved And Sensiseed were the only bank O
asis were using. Complete crap (the jack herer was complete loss). The White Widow were feminized . Neither strain was healthy and built good root structure. The jack herer's were probably f4"s or worse. Should have known the price was so low on both. I've been growing for 25 years and smoking it for 50. Ive have had those strains befor and know how good they should be. Anybody know of a kick ass strain available by mail to the U.S.A. So,,,,, can anybody help me find a seed bank they received an order from in the last year that they personally grew and can verify quality.? I sure would appreciate it!!!
I chose ILGM AND NIRVANA good seeds femanized mine came by discreet shipping, ILGM arrived in 4 days USPS and NIRVANA took 6 days widow mixed pack and cookies mixed pack the ones I've planted so far all came up in less than a week and are doing well I sprouted then for a friend in exchange for some extra led T5 lights he had he says they are looking awesome and are in flower now...

I was told this stuff grows like a Sativa, and is nothing like the NL5 Sensi/Europe used to sell, which was some good shit. The Sensi/European cut was a Short/Medium size Indica type plant. I believe Nevil called it Basic 5 vs NL5
Nevil never got the Pure NL5 cut, and was crossed with either NL1, or NL2, and then an unknown male was used to produce the seeds for what was actually an NL5 Hybrid, but was still labeled as NL5, and this version from Sensi did win the Cannabis Cup.

Theres another guy that holds the original Hawaiian Genetics that were used by Seattle Greg ( Confirmed by Seattle Greg ) and is offering the genes for a collaboration with Todd McCormick. I hope they do something. I dont see how they cant.

kandaharjim

Is this NL5 a Medium Smaller Plant?? Like an Afghanica?? The Sensi from the 90s was a squat plant, with tremendous resin production, and good yield for the size.

radagastfarmer

@kandaharjim no, more sativa. Tall plants.

radagastfarmer

@hella_xavious @toddpmccormick Greg told me that he collaborated with the Hawaiian BOEL crew. He crossed the Hawaiian with his own Afghan to make NL. NL5 was the NL backcrossed to the Hawaiian. The NL5 Nevil, and the rest of A'Dam, got was really NL5xNL2 (or NL5xNL1). So if you got NL5 from Greg, then you're one of the few to have the pure seedline of NL5.

The Hawaiian is Swazi x Thai x Mexican x Afghan. And NL is the addition of another Afghan to that cross.

Dont know the yield on this either, though Ive asked, but havent received a reply. 8-10 weeks flowering

This version is unlike anything most have ever seen represented as NL5.
