Set 12/12 to what time of the day?

I am running 24 hours of darkness before flowering.
I turned the lights off at 12am 4/8/11
I was thinking maybe the keeping the lights on from 3pm to 3am to keep the temp down.
The problem is that if I switch them on at 3pm the light will have been off for 39 hours.
If I turn them on at 12am tonight (24 hours) then my cycle will be from 12am - 12pm but I want to be able to view them more.
What do you guys suggest?
I have 4 plants under a 400watt HPS
