Setting up PC fans...

So I've got some PC fans coming in the mail today, but I'm not entirely sure how I should hook them up.

I do have some electronics experience, so if I wanted to hook them up to a battery, that wouldn't be much of an issue for me.

However, I think it would be better (and I'd be spending a lot less on batteries) if I were able to hook them up to a wall plug.

So, I need ideas on how to make that happen.

Maybe I could take a cord I've already got that plugs into the wall, splice the fans wires into that, and run it that way?

My issue is with the AC/DC as I don't have any experience with AC electricity.

Any ideas would really help.

Thanks!

I would recommend getting an AC adapter that outputs 12v and splicing. One fan per adapter and you're set!

Good luck! :)

If you have an old PSU you can hook em up that way. You jump 2 of the wires together on the 24 pin connection (you have to look up which ones, i did the green and black (ground and power on switch connector) Then you just hook the fans up and plug it in to the wall. been running 1 week no problems 24/7

Since I got 10 fans on eBay, I put a couple together onto a 12V car plug in parallel, and jesus christ do they suck... and not in the good way.

When it's just one, it's nice and powerful, but having both on the same 12V power supply really lowers the RPMs.

Looks like I'm going to get at least two off eBay.
