soilless and f&d? nah if u want to do coco or soilless I'd recommend hand watering or top drip. Go with hydro mediums for F&D, you'll need the quicker drying properties to make it effective.

Ok the guys at the hydro site said it should do fine but what do you reccomend in the smart pots? I was going to start by hand watering and then use the fd for flowering. If I did the pro mix I thought it would need less flooding and if my pump ever shit theyd be ok unnatennded.

Think I'm finally winning the gnat battle. Man it's a bitch in hydro...if I had soil I'd just put some sand on the top and be done with it, but these air pots are like gnat condos lol So here's what it took me to knock them back. (Keep in mind I was covering monitoring cards in a week or two, pretty sever infestation. And having my veg in the same room as flower and always running perpetual means there's always a new condo to move into...damn it.

Thing's that havn't been working...
-Mosquito Dunks
-Sticky traps
-Diatamaceous Earth topping

Success at last...
-Hot Shots No Pest strips, be mindful of vapors, possible cancer causer, but damn they work great on adults (I used 2 in a 10x10 bedroom, window is always cracked needed extra juice)
-Nematodes! And Home Depot Online sells them cheaper then most other people. $28 for 5 million shipped, stores up to 6 months in the fridge. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100655849/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=nemetode&storeId=10051
-Gnatrol (a BTI strain specifically made for gnats, Dunks are targeted at mosquito larva and I feel this strain gnatrol has patented is much more aggressive at attacking gnat larva.

So after suffering with these asshats for a couple years, think I've finally got the 3 punch cure. After I get the adult pop down I will probably put my Hot Shots away and rely on the BTI and Nematodes to prevent re-infestation.

Very solid, I used some hot shots briefly and I had success with them. But definitely pull them asap.

That shit sucks dude.

I had a brief encounter with those fuckers during my 2 week adventure in soil when I first started. I ended up spraying them with the light on with some Doctor Doom and ruined all my foliage.

My infestation came on arrival of FFOF. Upon reading up on it I wasn't alone in my issues with the stuff, so I decided then to go hydro.

Is it your root riots that brought them in? I haven't had a return since I got rid of everything organic. I really do think it was the soil that they came in and not due to the conditions of the room.

Did you try potato slices? Apparently the larvae come out into that and then you just dispose of them.

I think ABF puts stockings over his soil moms to prevent adults from laying eggs in the soil. Good idea if you're not already infested.

I feel for you man, they seemed relentless and a real pain in the ass to get rid of.

Nice seed order also. Wish I could have taken advantage of the 420 promo, but I probably won't have a job in a couple months so I gotta save the money I can. Least my ladies will get the time they deserve.

Yeah guys I'm still alive thanks for the concern lol... just have had almost 0 time to mess around. Started a full time job and in the middle of a 2lb harvest has me workin 18 hour days. I can already give you a heads up on the pp... they will need support. PE and BW both have weak stems. The one that is stretchier is prob more bw dom (assuming they are both female).

As for me stickin with most of the same strains. Popped a couple Space Bombs, after I saw the pics in the marijuana growers handbook it was a must. Gonna pop the c99s next just cant decide which pheno is better, advice?

Glad to hear your ok man. :) and Kk. I'll be sure to give them some support. I'm really lookin forward to them. Space bomb is a strain I've always wanted to try. Just kind of expensive. I've only grown the pineapple pheno. And I really really liked it. But I've heard the spicier.pheno is more potent. But trust me. the pineapple pheno packs a lot of power .and a great and very unique taste and smell. You won't be disappointed with watever pheno u choose.
