Here is an updated video of my setup in Stage 1. What do you think?

January 22nd Ramblings ;)
So, we're not seeing anything going on in the aero cloner :( meh I hate waiting. Time to go looking into other people's cloning adventures :) or just go back to the plugs.

Watered with RO the three WW and drilled some holes into the tops of the pots so I could zip the other three girls down :) They're all bent over, well, two of them...I think I let the mother plant alone this time :bigjoint:

Spent some time looking at other aero clone set ups and we've decided to wait til Friday for signs of roots and if not we'll cut them down a little more and add some replicator to the res.

Ahh 4:20

January 23
Took a look under in the aero cloner this morning and I'm thinking we've got somethin goin on in there :) that makes me happy. I'd post pics, but the ones I took this morning weren't good enough after I checked them out online. Hopefully I'll have more on this topic in the next few days.

Everything is going well in Stage 1. I took all the girls out for some time in the sun while I painted the floor a more reflective color. I wanted white, my honey brought me back baby blue. lol! It's brighter than the otherwise wooden floor.

Watered Stage 2 today. They weren't looking too hot :( If you read a few posts up, I was concerned with them possibly being over watered but since I haven't heard from anyone else and they were looking lifeless I watered again. Nutes used: 75 ml PB Bloom 15 ml Hydroplex

While the videos are being uploaded I'll type out a bit that my man and I have been talking about...

I've always grown in soil...haven't ever done any other method really, and now that we are experimenting with the aero cloner (it's a few days behind since this was my first time. I see progress, but I hadn't applied root simulator to the water in the bucket) he wants us to try our hand at a bigger aero unit and a SOG. I'm reserved about it really. I'll do it. But I hate experiments. I keep thinking I'll screw it up. Soil is such a buffer.

I've got other things I want to do first, like get the environment in both stages perfect. We need better extraction I think. He is going to be hooking it up differently soon as he figures out where else he wants to put a hole in the wall so we can put a fan near the cooltube and push out the heat. I want a few low tables or crates to put my plants on so they aren't directly on the floor. I want to get this aero cloning down. AND THEN...then- I think I'll be ready.

Also, I watered the three Warlocks in Stage 1 no nutes this time.

so what do you need my advice on? seems like you got it down good

Thank you. It's nice to hear that. I just know there is so much more I haven't a clue about. And I love to learn.

I'm interested in expanding my experience to aeroponics or the flood and drain system. I'm a bit nervous to do it because it's unfamiliar and I don't want to mess up. I'm reading about it though, trying to absorb the right things from the threads here. It sucks that a lot of them crumble into bickering and name calling...misinformation...or even worse ignored.

Thanks for subbing :)

I say you can bring those a little closer! All mine were literally and inch away...ive still got some about an inch away!
and I'm not really exaggerating! And inch or two to be safe is where you wanna be. Around 4" away cfl lights drops off drastically!
looks like you got everything under control tho!
and I'm a noob and know nothing of aero ponics at the moment, but soil I'm learning more about every day,
ill be around to help when I can as well as seek advice when I need it haha!:joint:

i got my girl o deck too haha so I'm saying that two minds are always better than one!

Almost completely updated on your journal ;) Would love to learn how to make (amend) soil...omg a worm farm sounds interesting too.

I can't tell you how easy this whole process has been for me! It's crazy! A good soil alleviates all of the problems throughout the grow haha! I swear...Onky thing I have to do daily is rotate them under the lights!
I water or give teas every three days....other than that I chill haha!
ill learn aero and hydro eventually, but for now its all natural! Let me know if u decide to give organics a shot.

Its selling points are ease of gardening and improvement in the quality of the smoke!

worm bin was pretty easy i think i have a thread on it somewhere on here. ill look and see if i can find it.

i will agree here Organic gardening is really really easy and hard to screw up. once you get the basic biology of how it all works is a breeze.

as far as trying hydro..have you considered trying a small DWC unit to work on getting your nutrient solution dialed in and all the perks and querks figured out? its a little simpler than a flood and drain and you only have to eqperiment with one plant at a time. i plan on doing my first DWC soon.

heres a few things i have grasped through my readings.

1: water temps can be hard to manage and lethal.
2: make sure you have a good temp/ppm/PH meter. cheap ones might not give correct readins which in turn lead to death.
3: PH is the #1 priority in a hydroponics grow, without maintaining a proper PH you will have lockouts.
4: if you can maintain temps and keep a steady PH of 5.8 then hydro is a breeze. its alot more work but in the end it ends up being much cheaper than soil growing.

well cant find the link but look up vermicompost and DIY worm bin and you should find some good tutorials. I have always had my bin right in my house and it has never let off a foul smell. all you need to get started is..

2 totes, both need to take the same lid or at least stack. one tote can be much smaller than the other in height.

drill holes in the bottom of the taller tote to allow drainage. cut out some sections of the shorter tote's lid so that you can place the larger tote on top of the smaller tote with lid on and it will drain into the tote, make sure you cut enough out to allow drainage but leave enough of the lid to support your actual worm bin.

worms, they use red wrigglers for composting.

brown cardboard for bedding.

and thats about it, make your bins then add dampened shredded carboard and your worms, then just start adding your organic compost stuff like fruit and vegtable waste (apple cores, orange peels, banana peels, celery tops, bad spots from potatoes.....you get the idea)

egg shells add calcium to the mix but decompose slowly. use coffee filters are a great source of nitrogen.

no meat or bones.

just add your non meat compostables and you will see within an hour or 2 the worms will be all over it.

anyways hit me up if you want to discuss vermi composting a little more, you can PM me if you want or just ask here ill be around.

thanks for the kind words m8

Hey it is what it is lad! We gotta stick together man! We have a common goal at hand, hitch is growing nice smoke!
With us all trying things and keeping each other in the loop, w get to that common goal faster!
It'd be great to have your advice at my disposal, so I hope you stick around! I'm looking to be a part of a team of positive thinking growers!

and apparently I need to spread some rep aroundmhaha

heres a pic of my worm bin to give you more of a visual of the tote configuration.

they also sell pre made sutups but they are around 100 bucks. this can be made with bedding and worms for less than 40 bucks and about 1-3 hours of time.

i know i had a whole tutorial on here on building it ill dig a little more to see if i can find it.

you guys are awesome :bigjoint::hug: So much great info! THANK YOU! I can't wait to show my man the plans for a worm bin and to learn more about vermi composting!

I'll pass on the DWC suggestion to him, he's my builder :D I agree with trying it out small to get everything dialed in. So much to read! HAHA.

Set me straight y'all...I have always thought I was doing it organic...Botanicare is suppose to be all natural and organic based?

Will you teach me how to make teas Sincerely420?
