Edited quotes taking what he is saying out of context, is not Biden lying. he is not 'for cutting' he is for saving those programs that the Republicans were trying to gut. Nice try.
Biden on Bernie Sanders : "One of two democrats I know"

(Democrats)

Biden referring to Sanders as a Democrat. Take notes, gents.

Looking forward to fact checking this debate.
Here are your facts: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GPO-CRECB-1984-pt7/pdf/GPO-CRECB-1984-pt7-4-1.pdf

On page 9811 Biden begins to speak on his support for the tax plan:
"Mr. BIDEN. Madam President, I am not sure that I am going to take the full 15 minutes allotted me under this special order. The subject which I rise to speak to this afternoon is the same subject that our colleagues, Senators KASSEBAUM and GRASSLEY, spoke to earlier; that is, within the next 12 to 18 months this country will face an economic and political crisis of ex-traordinary proportions if Congress re- f uses to take decisive action on the deficits that we face. That is why some of my colleagues and I are proposing what is referred to as the bipartisan budget freeze which will stop the runaway deficits in their tracks..."
..later he goes on to say:
"There is next year's budget agenda in one sentence: Cuts in medicare, cuts in Federal pensions, cuts in indexing for social security and other indexed programs. That is what we will see next year. The administration's budget proclaims it."

Ill post this here for you too:

From about 14 minutes in to understand what is going on. And if you want to really understand shit try watching the entire thing, and not just selectively edited portions designed to make people look bad.

When he is talking about spending as much on interest as we as a country needs to help everyone in our country you will start to get the idea of what was going on in that discussion.

Biden:
"WHEN I INTRODUCED THE BUDGET FREEZE YEARS AGO, THE LIBERALS IN MY PARTY SAID IT IS AN AWFUL THIN YOU ARE DOING, JOE. ALL OF THE PROGRAMS WE CARE ABOUT, YOU ARE FREEZING THEM. MONEY FOR THE BLIND, THE DISABLED, EDUCATION, AND SO ON. MY ARGUMENT THEN IS THE ONE I MAKE NOW, WHICH IS THE STRONGEST MOST COMPEL REASON TO BE FOR THIS AMENDMENT OR AN AMENDMENT, AND THAT IS THAT IF WE DON'T DO THAT, ALL OF THE THINGS I CARE MOST ABOUT ARE GOING TO BE GONE. GONE.

SO WHAT DO WE HAVE.

WE END UP WITH ESSENTIALLY A NET REDUCTION IN THE PROGRAMS THAT I CARED ABOUT OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS, A NET INCREASE IN OTHER PROGRAMS, AND A NET INCREASE IN THE PORTION OF THE BUDGET THAT GOES TO PAY INTEREST ON THE DEBT.

SO THE PEOPLE I CARE MOST ABOUT, THE REASON I RUN FOR PUBLIC OFFICE IN THE FIRST PLACE, ARE THE PEOPLE THAT GOT HURT THE MOST IN THIS PROCESS, AND ARE LIKELY TO GET HURT THE MOST BECAUSE THEY ARE THE WEAKEST IN OUR SOCIETY.

THE IDEA THAT THE INTEREST GROUPS OF THE PTA'S ARE GOING TO COME DOWN HERE TO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT MONEY FOR EDUCATION VERSUS MONEY FOR A TAX EXPENDITURES FOR MAJOR BUSINESSES, I HAVE NO DOUBT WHO IS GOING TO WIN THAT FIGHT."

Around 14:20 minutes in.

Thanks for the link. Pretty interesting to see at 25:30 he starts talking about supporting a freeze on spending to specifically include social security; meanwhile tonight on national TV he said that never happened. Bernie even gave him an out by asking him a second time if that was really his final answer.

Freeze on increases on spending yeah? Not on the actual spending in those programs.

And is he in favor of it as Bernie suggested, or are you blowing right past what his entire point is? That if we are spending all this money on interest payments, that is not money going to the programs that we care about? He is not in favor of it, he doesn't want it to occur, he just is willing to do the hard thing to cut increases to pay off the debt so interest payments don't crowd out investment in those programs.

He suggested a freeze to cost of living increase on social security payments. Sounds like a freeze on spending to me.
Think of it like your budget on groceries, say you spend $500 a month, next year you budget $550 a month because of inflation.

A freeze on spending is saying you will not be spending that $550 a month period, a freeze on the Cost of living increase is saying you will continue to budget $500 a month. It is not freezing spending, just the planned increases.

And he was suggesting it to be able to keep those programs by keeping the debt interest payments as low as possible so that money is not being wasted to pay back interest on the government borrowing.

Yes, I understand his logic. That's isn't the issue. The issue is that he said this evening that he never said it, but apparently he did.

He said he never said he favored it. And he didn't. It is easy to see how Bernie is trying to mangle reality here, why play into it?
He said he supported a tax bill that froze cost of living increases to social security, but didn't favor what he said he supported? I think you're trying to argue semantics here.

A freeze of cost of living allowance increases is not a ban of cost of living allowance increases.

Also, I'm sure there's 30 trillion dollars lying around somewhere...

Well the good news is that Biden said he doesn't need to be tested for covid-19 because he has no symptoms. Except..

If Biden has it then Sanders does too.

Sanders won't survive that shit, no way man. Heart conditions like what Bernie has are the number one leading comorbidity associated with sarscov2 fatalities.

Bernie appeals to the left wing disenfranchised and Trump appeals to the right wing disenfranchised. Bernie fans have nothing to lose so their all for dismantling big business and redistributing wealth but he's so far left that even if he was to be elected he wouldn't garner enough bipartisan support to foster any changes of substance. The bulk of Trumps base is not big business and money it's halfwits and angry voters who think that their sucky lots in life are the result of something other than themselves and that someone else has to be found and blamed. Trump supporters dont even realize what a truly stupid stupid man he is. Biden's politics dont matter much. All that really matters is that he is our best hope at removing Trump and keeping Bernie out of the oval office.
The most disheartening part of the last couple of election cycles is the low caliber candidate. Do these people really represent the best we have. I can see why UncleBuck is so fond of Trump. Trump didnt mind Epstein's behavior so maybe he'll cut Uncle Buck some slack as a pedophilia proponent. Leave the kids alone buck you sick bastard.
Is this where you apologize again to us for you being you?

I think Bernie did great during the debate. He was very entertaining. Pretty clear that he knows he's going to lose all hopes of getting the nomination tomorrow. But hey, he put up a spirited attempt that was quite entertaining.

Do you think he'll go back to the Senate and actually do something for a change?

That's ancient history. A lot has happened since then, or are you just trying to sell something?
