Should I pluck these off?

So flowering day 25 and I have some weirdish growth at the bottom of the toppings it appears like they want to produce buds by seeing emerging pistils, and was wondering if I should just pluck them off? I doubt they’ll produce substantial bud and I feel like they might just be wasting energy because they have to form leaves super fast to get energy and doesn’t seem productive. This is my first time doing this and I don’t wanna butcher it lol. Like when I defoliate I know it wasn’t the cleanest process so I’m sure I left a bunch of growth nodes but I didn’t wanna mess anything up defoliating my first time. Thanks for help!

second question- so I have two pretty powerful led lights, 2x240 boards in a 4x4 on a dimmer, I’m afraid to turn them on past 40% due to light stress, how do I know if I’m in a sweet zone without burning or bleaching? Temps are always perfect due to an air conditioner running. Sorry I’m a needy person!

You’ve got 480w? I’d turn them all the way up and drop the light. I’ve got 4x4 running over 600w led. As far as the little ones, personally I’d leave em. Don’t think it’s wasting energy. You’ll get small potent mugs hopefully.

Is that a spider?

Growth doesn't seem odd.. I'd remove them to send all that work up to the canopy.

Agreed. You STRIPPED those plants so light penetrating isn't going to be an issue....I'd be more worried about the plants recovering from a defoliation that thorough

The lights about 12 inches away from the tallest cola, and around 60ish percent I was pretty sure I was having some slight issues with light stress going on though, I think...

next time when you lollipop.. get a nice clean cut as close to the stem as possible to help prevent new growth.

Watch the leaf shape/color. The plants will let you know pretty quick if they're unhappy with what they're getting. Do you have a meter to know what the lights are actually drawing at "40%" from the wall?

Yeah it was my first time doing it, and all I could really do was base it off of pictures I’ve seen of other people on grow diaries. And unfortunately no I don’t have an actual meter, I’ve tried the lux meters on my phone which I know are stupidly inaccurate, the most I have to base it on is how much the dimmer is turned.

I did something similar to mine. Look at something like a "smart outlet". I use Sonoff- it gives you power consumption from the wall. At 100% you should be getting 480W right? I mean the old recommendation was like 30W/sq ft and you're running 16 sq ft so you're not overpowered. Which boards are you using?

I'd raise the light to ~12-18" from the tallest cola and put it to 100% power personally.

I’d try it for a couple days and see how it they respond, your in flower, let em blow up! I said I’d keep those little ones bc you didn’t scrog/lst. And yeah a little too much off there barber.

Just FYI but I normally do 18-24" during veg and 12-18" during flower with LEDs....most companies recommend around the same.

Oh yeah I kinda went a little crazy, once I started I just kinda kept going taking what I thought should go, once I stepped back all I thought was shiiiit. How long does it usually take for light burn to set in though?

I will definitely look into a smart outlet, do they still work if it’s running on a timer switch? And unfortunately I would raise the light taller but I accidentally let the plant get a little too tall and I can’t raise the lights any taller now, first time grow mistake lol.

Pluck them thangs. They’re energy suckers. That energy could be used in the top growth

Gotcha, fair enough. Is it to the point you're hitting the top of the tent or is it something like your fan is in the way? I moved my fan/ducting out of the tent on one of my grows for a similar reason...needed to buy another ~10" of space.

I still think even at 10" you can go higher than 40% but I'd be curious if 40% is actually accurate or if the potentiometer is labeled off.

Yes they will. What you need to do is plug the timer into the Sonoff- they don't turn back on when power is restored so you want the Sonoff to always get power and to have it cut off after that. It just gives you a readout of power consumption when it's on.

I was looking it up, are those the smart outlets that use WiFi? And I already moved the lights to the side of the fan to give me more room, I could probably ratchet it a little more and get another inch maybe. So pretty much have it so the smart outlet is always on and just plus the timer into the outlet and use that still.

Those are your buds! Looks like you pruned pretty well, I’d let them grow. How tall are the plants? Looks like you may have released a little too heavy. Keep in mind, the leaves are the solar panels for the plant and if you go to heavy too early, it will stunt the plant. I only pull big fan leaves as necessary to allow light and air flow until 5 weeks into flower, then start going heavier but focusing on the big fan leaves. 1-2 weeks before harvest, go to town! Before then, Just look at the plant and pull any big fan leaves that are blocking the mug from light/air

Yeahhhhhh, first time grow and I got a little excited, the plants got super bushy I thought it would be fine having three plants in a large tube turns out I completely choked out one of the plants. Definitely much learning done this time around, and I figured to keep the sites and worst case scenario it’ll make decent trim.
