Should I water after a transplant

So I have just transplanted my white widow clone not sure what size pot it was in at the start but it was very small left it in there for about a month or 2 now I’ve just transplanted into a 20L pot of coco and perlite and was wondering should I water the coco after my transplant as you probably know when you get coco it’s moist but not to moist so just not sure when to water and I did flush before I transplanted cause the girl is going into flower

I do. In coco. To run off, so the whole pot has the same ec/ph. Basically a flush, with a good dose of root microbes as well.

I like to let my transplants get just slightly thirsty and dry before upotting into some nicely conditioned & moist/pre-watered medium (I use a mix of coco/perlite/sphagnum/worm castings as a base mix), and then let that sit a few days till it starts to dry out and stimulate root growth into the new medium in search of moisture. I think if you don't water after upotting, but place the dry-ish rootball/dirt mass into conditioned moist soil, the outward saturation gradient promotes faster root growth into the new moist medium. Just a hunch though...

This is the best way. I used to do it like this and agree with the roots searching.

I’m just kinda killing two birds, as I’ve a lot on the go... flushing out the new coco during transplant instead of before.

I’m in no hurry though.

I’m probably an over flusher anyways. Once a week during res change.

its gonna depend on the moisture of the soil its already in and the moisture of the coco, if you chose to use a bio-degradable peat moss pot, soak it in water, peel off most of the edges and simply pop it in the soil without watering, mist the top of the soil well and dont water for another 10-16 hrs depending on how dry it gets

From a coco grower...Firstly, if you just transplanted it, yes...feed the coco and the plant; period. As importantly, unless you're trying to grow a 12' plant, you don't need 20L of coco...it's going to make managing everything that much harder to do. Trust me when I say, a monster can be grown in a 2 gallon pot, all day long. Good luck.

I never use over a two. Just hit it with 6-8 feeds per day and bud city!

Solo-1 gallon-2 gallon.

I root bound on the solo and 1 gallon.

That probably from 6 to 8 beers a day, watered down 1 to 10. Now only a plantsman would get that.

Yes you should thoroughly water the medium pre transplant.

I normally water post transplant as well but the comments made by ColoradoHighGrower make a lot of sense due to the pressure that would occur between the wet and dry soil.

I guess I'm not a true plantsman because I have no idea what the fuck 6-8 beers means... unless you literally want me to give my plants beers in which case.. well... wtf :eyesmoke:
