Completely off topic, China actually has a faster growing economy than America, and Ireland's per capita exceeds America's by about 10,000 dollars...

What is your source?
Methinks you are making things up? Am I wrong?

You are accurate in your assertions regarding Ireland and China....How does this buttress your silly assertion about Germany?

Well my father is a Professor of Finance and Economics in Queen's university Belfast...That's my source. My Father's speciality is the economic relationship between the EU and the US. I am currently studying Economics at The London School of Economics. How can a country the size of Germany be compared to one the size of the US in real terms? The US economy is in such a state. Your deficit is immense, that's all that is needed to be said.

Germany is greater than the US in a moral stance, and will soon be in an economic stance. Its current economic position is far more stable than the US'. It will soon overtake the US along with China. It's very simple

The topic of this thread is should Blair be charged with war crimes, not who has the better country. I think blair should be charged, only if Bush is; why should the leader of the most powerful country in the world be allowed off with murder? Saddam did nothing to him. We must remember this war began with the 911 plane attacks, which supposedly involved a man called Osama Bin Laden. Of course very few traces were found. In fact the idea's of a conspiracy became very tempting to a lot of Western civilisation. The problem is of course none of these things have anything to do with Iraq... O WAIT...THOSE WOMD! I nearly forgot about them. Unfortunate they don't exist.

Does anyone find it interesting that The World Trade Building 7 (I think) also miraculousy decided to fall down? A building containing very important documents which had been withheld from the public. Not to mention, of course, the two buildings were designed to withstand the very thing which "caused them to fall". This is unfortunatly unimportant at the moment.

Oh Gawd! Here we go with the conspiracy thingie again.

It's just a thought. Your problem is you believe a vast majority of things you are told! Challenge authority or you'll just end up a boring typical American supporting your very interesting incompetant government.

Wow...
That's the best you can come up with? Save me my time, please.

No, I asked for statistics and the best you can do is ignore the question.

Here is another question.....what is the EUs average birthrate, or Germany's birth-rate.?...ask your dad if need be, because, unless current trends turn around, there will be no Germany in fifty years....

You spout nonsense and piffle, but you are a good sport for engaging in civil discourse....thanks, oisin!

Lol. A low "brith-rate" as you so simply put it is always and has always been a sign of a developing country. It means contraceptives are in use [usually in conjunction with a lack of organised religion (take Africa for example - the main religion being, GUESS WHAT? You got it, Catholicism)] and it means couples are more than likely both working (an essential part of building a strong economy) and therefore have no time for children. It essentially means people are too busy building the econonmy to have children, which also supports my point about the rights of women and their role in the workplace (which was in reference to your presidency). But then I wouldn't expect a person like you to value the equality of women, would I? That was a pathetic example...

But then i suppose ignorance is bliss, let's say in both our cases. Ahem.

Back to topic please?

Average gross domestic product (GDP) in the US is about 40% higher than average GDP of the EU-15 when measured at purchasing power parity (PPP). The gap is slightly greater if we consider either the twelve Eurozone members (EU-12) or add the accession states (EU-25).
Europe vs. USA: Whose Economy Wins? - The New Federalist

oisin, this is from a pro EU site, and this is the best that they can do in critiquing US economy vs. EU.....
You are quite incorrect.
My point is that I suspect you have no ability to legitimize some of your wild assertions...

And Blair is, in no way, shape, or form, a War Criminal.... to assert otherwise is left wing sophistry in all of its threadbare glory!

Killing these self avowed mortal enemies is the moral imperative.
It is correct, just, honorable and necessary….IMO!

I appreciate your effort, but George Irvin has always been a very contraversial character.

Of course the EU is having difficulties, many of them revolving around the Euro. But with such a massive deficit there is no way America can be compared to the EU. If we brake down the EU to seperate country's you will discover a higher standard of living, for example. Generally a higher per capita, and generally a lower level of poverty. Irvin looks at the EU from a THATCHERITE point of view, if that makes sense to you. There are, in all truth, many different ways to interpret any economy. One can look at the pros and draw a conclusion or the cons and draw an equally arguable conclusion. At the end of the day it is hard to judge such two different economies.

I do stick by the fact we have a general higher standard of living and the budget deficit as being the main arguments in favour of the EU.

All i have to say to this is grow up... Your a disgusting person.

These are stats from your side of the fence....that is a left wing site...

Where are ANY sources for your silly statements of purported fact....?

Your idealism is admirable, albeit juvenile.

So, no law was broken, and yet ... you guyz would execute the leaders of two major countries for what ... not agreeing with your politics?

And, why in the world did Tony Blair sign on to an International Law? Doesn't that mean that every citizen standing under the shadow of the Union Jack would have to answer to international law as well? I thought the Brits were a free people. <Sheesh!>

All Bush, or any U.S. president has to do is to present his case to the Congress and the Congress votes to go to war. Oh, and by the way ... all but three congressmen voted in favor of the Iraqi war. Even John Kerry voted for it before he voted against it. *lol*

Vi
Not Bush, Blair. Blair signed up to this law. The war on Iraq was illegal. The leader must always answer for his people. It was he that lied to us, told us there were womd just so that he could get a load of cheap oil. He is partly responsible for the murders of 100's of thousands of Iraqi civilians. The destruction of a beautiful country. I like to put myself there, into the shoes of an Iraqi man, a man like myself with young children. Can you do that Vi'? Can you imagine the horrors those people have suffered, just because we want cheaper oil?

I'm in more of a situation to hand out economic fact than you are. Your hardly a worthy cause. Leave your right wing ignorant high horse and get real, at least try to help sort your country out by seeing what a shit-hole it is. End of discussion

ust one helping, please sir....?
In actuality, you have no facts....

You cannot substantiate your fantastic claims....

As an afterthought, how do you presume to know anything about me? Try dealing with actual ideas....ponderous, timid ploy.

For whom it may concern:

($12.36 trillion for the US vs. $12.18 trillion for the EU).[2] As the EU has 50% more people than the US, but produces about the same economically, the average EU citizen enjoys a per capita share of domestic product of about USD $28,100, while in the US the per person GDP is over USD $40,000
Economy of the European Union - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Europe vs. America-- Germany edges out Arkansas in per capita GDP.
The growing split between the U.S. and Europe has been much in the news, mostly on foreign policy. But less well understood is the gap in economic growth and standards of living. Now comes a European report that puts the American advantage in surprisingly stark relief.
The study, "The EU vs. USA," was done by a pair of economists--Fredrik Bergstrom and Robert Gidehag--for the Swedish think tank Timbro. It found that if Europe were part of the U.S., only tiny Luxembourg could rival the richest of the 50 American states in gross domestic product per capita. Most European countries would rank below the U.S. average, as the chart below shows.

Another indicator of the relatively good material standard of living among the American poor can be obtained by comparing dwelling space among poor households in the USA with average dwelling space in Europe. Table 3:3 compares dwelling space in various countries. Average total dwelling space in Europe is just under 1,000 sq. ft. In the USA it is 1,875 sq. ft for the average household and 1,200 sq. ft for poor households. Adjusting for size of household, one finds that poor households in the USA have slightly more dwelling space than the average European. The average American household has a home that is 80 per cent larger than its average European counterpart. Europeans, in other words, are more crowded in an American perspective.
