man that hotwheels track , you could hear it coming, I made a big mistake and tried to dodge one once, hit me right in the fucking eye! talk about mama going from anger to feeling highly guilty, kinda ruined hotwheels for me and glad they came out with the vertibird.

I'd beat the fuck outta my kids and your kids.Keep the little fuckers in check you liberal fucks!
There are boundaries. When you see someone parenting a way you don't like, don't go all ape shit on someone, especially in front of the kid. Take them to the side, and try an get them to explain what they did, how they felt, and if it was truly necessary.

I'll tell you right now, if anyone wanted to put their foot down and try to parent my kid, without my permission. They would be Six Feet under

The difference between children and adults is self control. Being angry is natural. It's a human reaction. Throwing a tantrum and "beating people up" is childish and trashy. Now. Everybody has a big willie. Please stop arguing.

I voted yes, but with a caveat I meant swat not punch. An open hand swat on a behind doesn't hurt a toddler or a 6-year old. If you have to hit your child as a tween or old then you've probably lost the game.

I expect to have to pop a tween or two's mouth at some point. But that's a ways off yet. We'll see.

This thread is great! I have been whipped with the hot wheels track, but never by my parents, just cousins and friends. My dad used a belt if I really needed it. Now I'm an adult, and a father. My son will always know I love him more than anything in the world, I would literally kill for him if necessary. He also will always know that if he steps over that line, he's gonna get swatted on his ass. It's going to hurt. I don't like it any more than he does, but my job is to raise a young man. I don't think anyone here is condoning child abuse, but if you think that a good old fashioned spanking is child abuse then chances are you're raising a kid who isn't going to understand consequences.

hmmm depends on who is on the end of your so called discipline , how about i 'discipline' you the way i want you to behave , call it what you want , but when an adult strikes a child , i call it abuse , bullying , violence etc etc , if you are a good parent , your child will show respect without the need of your back hand , my child has been naughty in many ways , but never have i felt the need to physically strike her , thats just sick and barbaric , you might think your cool , laying your big hands on a tiny child , but i dont .If you had any intelligence about you , your child would not be behaving in a way you would feel the need to physically strike them .How about i come over to your house and slap you on the back of the legs every time you do something i dont like , you are a sick individual and i hope your kids grow up disrespecting your violence .
holy shit you fucking crackhead! i sincerely believe that you are correct. YOU should never even consider ATTEMPTING to administer corporal punishment. volatile idiots like you are the very reason child abuse exists. are you an alcoholic as well as a blister lipped crackhead? DONT TOUCH YOUR CHILD! and you would be doing YOURSELF a huge favor by staying away from me and my stepson who by the way is grateful for his upbringing.

Nowadays some parents give their kids pharmaceutics for ADD, ADHD etc...
but back in the day if we had ADD etc...our parents would just slap us upside the
head and that got our attention right away.

I can remember just a couple times that my parents gave me a spanking. I'm sure I totally deserved it.

Don't think I could ever spank my daughter though. Saw her get some shots today and it made me want to cry.

Oh God I used to hate that. Luckily i'm pretty past the immunization stage with all mine. Maybe one or two a year, if that. But, oh did I cry when they'd give my babies shots. That's one area i'd never ever do - peds. Pediatric wings are just too much for me. I don't even *really* like maternity wings either. One hospital I worked at (true story) brand new nurse, right out of school...she went through the entire thing with her twin sister, they thought they'd work together forever...anyway we had a baby in peds, he was a newborn, and his hand was wrapped in gauze. She was cutting the gauze off and I am not kidding you, she cut the baby's pinky finger off. She completely FREAKED. (As would anyone, i'd hope.) But she actually quit nursing all-together. She went into real estate. There wasn't anything we could do to calm her down, either. (The baby's finger was reattached successfully and he has fully functional use of it now.)

i usually respect your polls coz i like to see the outcome of different people , but im afraid i hate this poll , you make out like striking a child is a valuable option , i challenge your shitty poll to come up with an answer to when is it acceptable to lay your dirty fist upon as child ?
dear cunfused crackhead, you are the only one here talking about child "beatings" and using "fists" on children. put the crack pipe down and actually read whats being posted. use a dictionary to clarify terms if/when necessary. BEATING CHILDREN WITH FISTS OR ANYTHING ELSE IS B A D! a "spanking" (when administered with love and explanation) has a place in childraising. just because you are incapable of discerning the difference due to youre genetic "substance dependent" nature doesnt make you right and most everyone else wrong.

Negotiation with children who want control is a much better tool for managing them, this takes the power-struggle aspect out of the equation.
