That plant had just a couple of weeks veg period, counting from when the clone was well rooted. The current clone will get slightly longer, its just rooted so she will get to veg until this one is finished in about 4.5 weeks time. This pheno is very vigorous in its early growth period, its much more to do with the genetics than my grow skills :-) The follow up should be far bigger!

Thanks again all.
I dont know how I missed it the first time. I see you veg for 2 weeks. So you take your cuts a couple weeks before harvest?

Mature I am well on my way, thanks for all the help so far. Here is an album that I started. I am going to wait to start a jurnal till I work out a bug or two.

jjmd: those look very good, nice and healthy, I can see that you have got a good feel for the hempy already :-) Post the link here if you do start a journal for them?

BudBag, I dont have any hard fast rules, but this one was 2 weeks in the cloner rooting then another 2 weeks vegging before going 12/12. The follow up has just rooted and will get another 4 weeks vegging as this one finishes.....it can vary. I generally take my cuts around 2 weeks into flowering.

realisticg, cheers for the comments :-)

Its end of week 5 (day 35) 12/12 :-) about 4 weeks to finish now and the fuin part begins....watching those buds swell.

I have some burn and yellowing (as usual!) but they had a feed today of bio bizz bloom plus mollases. I'm holding back on the PK booster for a few more days yet.

Hers some more pics. Also one of my small veg box, you can see the NL clone plus a Hindu Kush that I am revegging. THe HK is just 9 days into 18/6 again and I expect to reflower her in about 5 weeks time for a second harvest :-)

Now that i can see what you started with , i can see how they LST so well. I've learned that the clones you take got to be real nice (lot of shoot sights). I was told you can't take tops of for clones, but when my mother had nothing but a top left i tried it anyway. Here's my results...the plant in the white bucket (inside) was the mother before i started taking clones, the small clones is @ first day (just put in dirt). No training, the plant in late august(outside). About 76days give or take. Oh and its NL of course :mrgreen:bongsmilie Can't wait to watch your buds fill out!!!! They look real real reeeaaalll nice already!

Hi again PBF :-)

Lovely pics there, I'd love that mother plant! You must have got some great cuts off her. I know what you mean about the NL and how fast they begin to frost up :-) NL has been crossed with just about everything but I still like the original. BTw, heres what Nirvana have to say about Northern Lights:

"Northern Light is a strain highly suited to indoor growing. Nearly all promising modern indoor strains contain Northern Light genes. With its high flower-to-leaf ratio, compact buds, good yields and exceptional resin production, this wonderful plant is a most lucrative choice for the indoor grower. The smoke's flavour is somewhat neutral, yet full-bodied".

I agree about the 'neutral' flavour of the NL, although theres a nice citrus edge to it I find too. How do you find it PBF ?

Updates comoing shortly :-)

I find it very strong in smell, like a fruity/citrus smell. The taste is like non other. I'd say very fruity. but not so much fruit?? Hard to explain. The high is a soaring , cant sit down high, and you never get burnt out. Friends pay 50 USD an eighth but i just keep it for my self.bongsmilie That frame around your pot is real smart. When you tie the branches to the pot the plant can only go so far... but that frame changes that. imagine vegging a plant for like 2 months and making a massive frame. Im going to try this actually. I got the perfect NL plant for it.

Hi PBF,
I understand what you mean about the smell/taste of NL :-) And the high is long lasting, I find a really strong 'uppy' buzz almost immediately, then it gradually mellows into a very heady but relaxed stone, just what I enjoy.

The frame idea could be made any size and shape of course! I found the limitations of the pot size made it harder to LST how I wanted and the frame makes it easier to pull those tips down as they grow.

Roughly what day do you harvest your NL? I like it around day 60 to 63 but this one is quite a fast finisher.

UPDATE DAY 37 12/12. Roughly 3.5 weeks left to swell those buds now :-)

Some burn from my aggressive feeding, but thats par for the course with my grows! Had a good plain flush yesterday, PH 6.2.

I usually let them go 67-72 days. That plant looks SOOO nice!
Thanks gfk, Burmese Kush sounds real nice, I love some of those Kush strains.

Thanks again PBF, I'm really struglling to type this, ground up a bit right off the top a 4 week cured bud 10 minutes ago :-) Could get that citrus aroma when you break the bud, real pungent :-)

I'm not happy with the overall condition of her, but then I never am! Going to give her the PK 13/14 tomorrow.

Phew!

We just recently had a switch in our supplys here and are now smoking NL. I cant believe this stuff! I believe it is some of the best I have ever smoked in mah life haha, its not a couch stoned where you are locked and want to do nothing. Instead its like you say a very "uppy" buzz. Its amazing. This stuff I smoke and I get so PUMPED to do my homework or clean or whatever needs to be done, its great. Im def going to try to get my hands on a seed or two for the new PC =P

Oh yeah, and the long lasting! DEF! I mean you dont stay super stoned but you stay in that "get stuff done" mood for a long time.

how do you handle air flow in to and out of your grow cabinet, if at all? what is pk 13/14? i plan on using your framing idea for my first cfl closet grow. i've been reading/addicted to riu since i discovered it. hopefully i will be getting a clone or two from a cannabis club very soon and can get started.

Hi manavstabu,

I have a fan at top left blowing the warm air towards the exhaust fan at top right, both fans run pretty much all of the time. Another small circulation fan blows air through the plant and across the buds during the lights on period.

PK13/14 is a 'bloom booster' (NPK- 0-13-14), adds much needed potassium and phosphate in the last few weeks of floweringas those fans begin to yellow. I use Canna but there are others out there too. (see pic).

Dameon, thanks for the comments. The stick frame is ideal for smaller cabinets like mine where you need to train to the shape and size of the box.

Just repotted the follow up NL cutting today, shes got nice strong roots on her. I expect to begin flowering her in about 2/3 weeks time.

Day 39 of 12/12.

Two latest pics. Buds are developing well but leaves are yellowing now. Had a PK boost yesterday. Just another 3 weeks or so now to pack out those buds :-) Trich development is very good and in true NL style shes glistening already.

Next run I'm going to cut down on my feeding regime slightly, but so long as I'm growing healthy buds I try not to get too concerned about the overall condition at this stage.
