single cola plants?

Right on, the most I've seen in a rubbermaid container is two plants... 9 might not work... Not enough space.

Yeah, that's DWC, bubbleponics... Whatever. :leaf:

The first three pics are the suppercropping updates.
Other pics are of plants weeks 2-3 of flower.
The last pic is a good close-up of the bottom branches at week 3 of flower if left on. Would all this lower bud growth really be diverted to the main cola, had they been trimmed. I only have 2 that got the lower 1/3 branches left on.

Thanks all,
-Dude'r

As far as suppercropping, pinch where you want the nodes to start forming close together, all growth under the pinch will catch up to the top of the plant, like topping, but if you don't have any lower growth, the top will form a giant bud from where you pinch it, the nodes won't spread apart and form sparce branchy buds.

There's lots of pics and info, don't just take my word for it, search for some pics. :leaf:

I saw a DIY thread where the guy put 6 in a 3 gal. Seemed way to much for also. Can the plants be crammed in there as long as the resiviour meets the gallon requirement of each plant. Say 5 gallons per plant.

The more and more I look into a scrog the more it seems for me. It seems to be basically a way to get an even tighter more filled canopy without so many smaller plants like a sog. So organized looking too. I'm thinking I can cram the 9 plants in the same resivour As long as I use something like a Scrog or traditional sog to provide bettewr light penetration. Am I right or no? I'll start posting these hydro questions in a hydro forum.

I'll try to keep it on thread topic. I think we've discussed everything regarding single cola plants. Anyone care to add anything we forgot? I did find a thread on Sog's on another website. The guy was doing like a hundred from clone. Said he averaged 1-1.25 oz per plant when done 12/12 from rooted clone. Not bad at all.

Oh I believe you. I was worried at first cuz of how stressfulk it seemed for flower. Already though, I can see the benefit. Within the first day the plant had almost bent itself back towards the light.

As far as lower branches. It seems clear no matter where you cut them off, they'll try to grow somewhere else. My question is, if the lower branches do manage to get full sun. Would there still be a benefit to chopping them? Main cola bud is always the most potent I've heard.

As long as it's getting sufficient light, it will produce good bud.

I did a scrog once with a bunch of mother plants, it was the best yield per plant I've ever had.

I tried using simple netting, like I see a lot of growers use, and didn't get as good of results as when I built a sturdy frame, and used some rectangular plastic coated wire fencing.

I built a frame, 4ft x 8ft out of 2x4s, and stapled the fencing down to the frame, I sat it over the plants and bent the branches along the fence, so the buds grew through.

It was kinda a pain in the ass to harvest, cutting all the colas from the fencing, but the results spoke for themselves, I ended up with a little more than 3 oz per plant average. With mainly bubblegum, a low yielder, and super skunk, my fav.

Having the sturdy fencing helped train them a lot. :leaf:

Thanks MrHM, Thats exactly what I was looking for

Good luck, Dude with your grow(s). I did do a SCROG last grow. Just trying to speed things up a bit with a perpetual SOG

Peace

Most were first sexed at 9-13 inches. Most are still continuing vertical growth through weeks one and two of flower. The few that have reached week 3 an almost halted vertical growth are around 7-21 inches. So they sex at around a foot and at week 3 they double to two feet. Although with the original 50 plants some were sexed at as high as 19 inches while one was sexed at 4 inches. Some strains seem very ill-suited for SOG. But with bagseed I can't tell you which ones. I'd select a short indica strain if I did it again.

I was thinking the same thing with the screen. I've seen a lot of pics of them and also "Budget" screens made of string or twine. I really wanna not half-ass anything anymore with my grows. I'm tired of just barely having enough green ya know. I'm aiming for a system to give me 2-3 oz per plant. I figure in a 4 foot by 2 foot screen; I can fit 9 plants in a dwc a foot under the screen. I'm wondering if that's to crowded. I want short harvest times, but a FULLY COVERED Scrog. How many plants would you choose if you were gonna do a short Indica strain?

More pics of some different plants. Most around week 2. You can probably tell thier age by bud development. Although they do seem to be doing geat for their age. Some, "droopage" from watering before pics were taken.

Okay. My girls are around 8-16 inches. just entered week 2 of actual flowering. The appear to have kept gaining height. Am getting some yellowing. I've just started adding nutes slowly...I've actually been undernuting...Next week I'll start to add a little more.

Yeah, if you have a 7 week strain, most are around that except long flowering 10 week sativas, but with them all, peak feeding is done at weeks 3-4, so pump them up, when the flowers are stacking like yours are, it's the most food you'll give them, then taper off from there. Nice pics btw theratfords. -also those cfl popbottles are pretty redunkulous, a whole lotta work, for such a little result, a good result, but I wanna have pounds and pounds. :bigjoint:

For real though, good looking so far, those sativas are gonna be a pain.

For a really fast strain, look for Early Pearl crosses, I've grown Silver Pearl a bunch, it's a short squatty hybrid, and finishes in 45 days, or less, It's done budding by day 40, I have tons of pics in my albums... They are the ones with the black background (lights off) towards the bottom... The cover pic is a single cola bud... I'd link it but it's right there in my sig.:D

I think indica is the way to go indoors. Excpecially with a scrog.

I can't imagina having a whole grow room filled with 16 oz bottles. I only have 25 an it's a lot of work. But unreal results. Almost an oz. I would of thought they'd be root bound in like 3 weeks. Just thought it was interesting.

Thanks All
-Dude

Think 25 pop bottles is a lot of work, I run 54 5gal buckets of soil...

This round I'm going to try and fit 63 with an extra row of 9.

The first 2 weeks of flower you should be around 1300ppm with a ph of 5.8 for hydro.

It all depends on what you're feeding them, and what you plan on peaking at.

Starting at 1300, do you peak at 1800??

I peak at 1000, in soil with organics so it's different, and get the results I get. I plan on doing some DWC buckets this round, but wasn't planning on giving them that heavy of a feeding.

It depends on the nutrient availability, some nutrient lines are more easily absorbed, and you don't have to peak as high. Also with organics, some of the ingredients are not able to be measured as dissolved solids, so a reading of 1000 is actually 1400, it just doesn't register on the meter. :leaf:

Here is my feeding schedule http://www.foxfarmfertilizer.com/hydrofeed.pdf. I have a flood and drain system and i use foxfarm organic hydro nutes.

Dammit Man. I wish. My state has number constraints at 25. My wife and I are almost decided on moving to Wyoming. I have a lot of friends and family that could use what I got. It would be nice to be able to share more. On Norml's website they have every states sentencing guidelines. It would be nice to do an outdoor greenhouse grow one day but....fantasy for now.

Mr. Marks. If you don't mind me asking; What are you averaging a plant in that orange bucket pic? Damn I can't wait to have a basement again!!!

Here's that 6 plant DWC I was talking about. Really small. But I figure if that works, than 9 in a 20 gal should be ok. I see people doing six pretty often on here but never in that small of a tub.
