my question, just need the answers I’d like to try things out and see for myself but I’ll keep an open mind

1# how long should I veg in total from seedling
For a 3 gallon plant?

when I transplant into 3gallon pot, how long should I veg( so the roots can establish themselves) before switching to flower ?

2# when first mixing the soil up , instead of using only 2 tbs of dr.earth , would 3 tbs be better ?seems like a little bit when initially mixing
(I think I read it somewhere too, 3tbs@mixing/2tbs top dressing )

3# should I mix my transplant soil 1-2 weeks before ? Keep it moist let the amendments break down ..

4# is a humidifier absolutely needed? (I’ll make a second post on ventilation and humidity)

5# how many drops of superthrive or ml per liter of water? How many ml per gallon ?

6# will I need to to use cal mag even tho dr.earth has some calcium or only use if there’s a deficiency?

7# do I water till 10% run off when using organic amendments or little runoff if at all ?
thn let it stand for 10-15 min thn dump out whatever isn’t absorbed back up

Cal mag deficiency like streaks and dots on my leads .. I had the same issue last time same strain and light ..

I think I resolved it by dimming the light , I think it’s to intense I know intense light can cause this but I don’t know how ..

is it cause the light is so intense it’s using up the food and cal mag up in the soil fast or In its leaf’s faster then it can bring it up

so its either a cal mag deficiency or light is too intense but like I said I’d like to understand how llight intensity causes it

Dump the Superthrive - snake oil.

You are way overthinking this grow. Most of that list you are throwing at it is unnecessary.
Dr. Earth and EWC are all you need. Terp Tea ( Veg ) green bag is fine once a week if needed.
No molasses or other supplements.

Dry fertilizer will become available to plant from breakdown in a week or so , so it will not be necessary to hyperload the medium.
As far as calcium - your nutes and water source especially tap already has that covered.

Also those “ lines “ are from variegation ( pigment ) …. It is relatively common .

Keep things simple.

As far as watering goes ..

I’ve been watering to 10% run off let sit for 10-15 min then dump out ..

I know you don’t want any runoff cause you’ll flush out the ammendments but it’s what’s easiest for me aslong as it’s well draining , cause I know all the soil has gotten wet/moist

But to avoid of flushing any amendments I’ll water slowly in intervals like always but only till I get a few drops of water but even then I feel like when doing 10% run off tht helps pull any excess water out

Watering without runoff cause I feel like I’m putting to much water cause I want to make sure it reaches the bottom and wets all the entire soil but thn I feel like its too much and it’s just holding on too it …

I think it’s cause I’m just used to seeing the run off and also I water when the soil is pretty dry thts probably why I feel like its a lot n no run off

Cause I’m waiting till it dry out pretty good but not all the way till the top 2/3 of soil is dry and the bottom of the pot is somewhat still moist

got it thanks yeah I tend do tht in all parts of my life lol I also deal with ptsd so yeahh I be worrying to much but yeahh

the terp tea and emulsions would only be in case of an emergency really /a quick fix

really ? Superthrive ? I wanted to use it for the kelp but I’ll just get a kelp amendment for teas if so in the future if you’d think it’s beneficial

Also just asking in general when watering with fish emulsion …

let’s say if my pot is almost completely dry so obviously I’ll need a good amount of water to hydrate right so if it’s a day I need to fertilize

liquid fertilizer, would I use the fertilizer water mix to water even tho I’ll be using a lot of it cause the soil is almost completely dry
I feel like its too much fertilizer water

thn compared to first hydrating the soil completely and thn giving it a splash of the fertilizer water

Basically, if my soil is dry do I water with only fertilizer water or do I hydrate first plain water then splash of fert water or till run off

But yeah ..

id like to get my watering down, so it can be just moist like when bottom watering(like how the soil only absorbs what it can hold and not excess completely wet )..

u know like the day or a few after u top water, and it’s moist not completely wet soil looks dry but Is damp-moist & pot is light

to achieve tht would I go about it like…

First 1-3 watering water to 10% run off or slight drip. Make sure tht soil becomes hydrolyphic so It just doesn’t run thru without absorbing..

Then (cause I read somewhere )
You wait till 10-15%, maybe higher % of the water in the soil to be used & and water in with 10-15% of what you initially used or
Just go by weight of the pot before and after

Go by weight so u can determine how much is needed and when it’s enough water

What do y’all think ?
